Dakota Heart POV
I sighed, smiling fakely at Violet as I walked to my calc. class. I'm smarter than almost all of the junior class, since I was taught to manage money and accounts for when I became Luna of the Crimson River Pack. My father taught me when he still loved me, when he thought I was going to shift. My mother barely survived her shift, since she was part human like I am. The only difference is, I'm not going to shift. I'd love to because I've always imagined what my wolf would look like. Maybe silver like my mothers, or black with a bit of white like my dads. Even a mix of the two would be nice. I just want her back.
"Dakota Heart, solve the equation on the board since you like zoning out so much." Mrs. Ricardo demanded her deep brown eyes boring into mine. I solved the 12-step equation in under 2 minutes and smiled sweetly at my calculus teacher, heading back to my desk in the middle of the room. The seniors in the class laughed at Mrs. Ricardo and she flushed red in embarrassment. "O-ok, very well done Dakota. You can have the rest of the period off. Everyone else is taking a quiz." I smirked, silently laughing at the seniors grumbling over a simple quiz.
The bell rang after all the seniors stared me down for not having to take the quiz. I scurried out of the classroom, head low in mock shyness. My pale gray eyes were steely as I headed toward the locker rooms, annoyed because of the schools strict Phys Ed. uniform. The girls had to wear a sports bra and loose shirt with shorts while the guys only had to wear shorts. Unless the weather called for it then sweats were allowed. All of the girls took the oppurtunity to wear only spandex shorts and a sports bra, flaunting their bodies to the horndog jocks. Including my best friend Kayse Ronan. Violet tugged at the large T-shirt covering my thin, heavily bruised frame.
"Kota, take it of. You'll be the only one wearing a shirt I swear you're a prude. Cmon please? I'll be more comfortable if you wear just a sports bra with me." I frowned at her and muttered a submitting reply. "I'll be out there in a moment Vi." I smiled shakily, stripping and grabbing the waterproof consealer from my bag. I winced, dabbing the nearly white makeup on my disgusting black bruises. After they were all hidden, I walked out of the locker room and bumped into a rock hard body of muscle that caused me to slip onto the floor. "Ow!" A squeak of pain left my pink lips as I looked up at the face of the person that made me fall. "K-Kayse why are you near the girls locker room?" He stared down at me silently, mainly my collarbone, where under five or six layers of makeup, hid the bruise he saw this morning. "You healed? he asked quietly in his deep, husky voice. "No, I covered the bruises with makeup. Vi wanted me to take my shirt off with her so she was more 'comfortable' rubbing herself on you." I replied, my body slightly shaking from laughter. Kayse chuckled, smiling lovingly at me, my porclain cheeks blossoming with a scarlet blush. He wrapped his arm over my shoulders and I hugged his waist with an arm as we walked toward the gym.
Kayse Ronan POV
She fits so perfectly in my arms, I kept thinking as we walked toward the gym class. When we entered the door I noticed all the slutty dressed girls staring at me and all the guys staring at the beautiful girl pressed against my side. An intense, angry glare was shot the guys way while Dakota shrunk back away from the girls furious gazes. I squeezed her closer briefly and bit my lip when I heard and felt her wince from the tension I created on her bruises.
"Sorry!" I whispered apologetically, kissing the top of her head. "It's ok, I know you forgot. I covered them very nicely." she responded with a gentle smile. I saw Violet Layton strut toward us, hips swinging in a way she probably thought was seductive. A clammy, manicured palm stroked up my defined abdominal muscles and I looked down with an annoyed expression and saw Violet, one arm underneath her chest pushing her limited clevage up and the other still touching my chest and stomach. "Hey there Kayse. You were clearly working out over the summer." she purred, sounding like someone was strangling a cat. "Violet," I gruffly answered, " don't touch me, your hand is disgustingly sweaty." my annoyance of the situation was quickly doused when Mr. Wrice called us all over . "The game is capture the flag, the rules are to obtain the other 2 teams flags. you can leave 4 defenders in your camp but no more than that. If someone gets in a different teams zone, then they're safe from everyone except that team. Tag players to get them out. Alright? Everyone get into 3 teams. Ronan, Addison, and Gonzalez are your captians." As the captians picked teams, everytime I looked at Kota to call her she just shook her head and motioned to someone else. I frowned but agreed with her decision, she wanted me to have the best team. She ended up on Tony Addison's team so he and I secretly agreed on a temorary allience to capture Josh Gonzalez's flag. Since Josh's dad was Beta, second in command, Tony and I knew we would need to team up against him if we didn't want him to win. Mr. Wrice blew the whistle, starting the game. Tony and I called for our teams to rush Josh's base, I looked toward Dakota and nodded the signal. We all knew no one would notice her. She may be a fragile human but shes fast, almost wolf fast. There's been something off with Kota, I can't tell what it is, but something is going to happen. I shook my head, quietly making my way toward Josh himself. he was headed toward Tony's flag and I tagged him right before he entered the base line. "Josh out!" He shouted, earning a cheer from the allied teams and he was high-fived as he walked past his team. I smirked, evoking lust filled gazes from all the females in the room. All except the one I wanted it from, Dakota. Her eyes were dark, and she scowled at everyone as she simply walked past them and grabbed Josh's team flag. She headed back to her teams base and I sighed, watching her hips swing as she unknowingly seduced me even more. I want her so badly I can feel as the breath leaves my lungs and her strawberry vanilla scent wafting into my senses. I shook my head blushing hard when Dakota looked my way. The girls that began to surround me giggled, thinking they were the reason for my red cheeks.
Tony Addison POV
Dakota, Alpha Hearts only child, walked toward me with the blue flag of the Beta's team. She handed me the flag with what I thought was the most beautiful smile I'd ever seen. At that moment I felt immense guilt enveloping me. Everytime she was beten up by her father, and the pack members I did nothing, I know I even laughed at her with them. I gazed into her breathtaking gray eyes, that were a pale blue around the iris. A goofy smile slid over my face as I got closer to her, her startled expression overwhelmingly adorable. I heard faint mumbling and a shout sounding like, "Get Violet out of here. I'm going to kill him." her mumbles of protest fell on my ears but it was like I was deaf. All I could hear is her soft breath on my bare, brawny chest. Everytime Dakota exhaled, I would inch closer, shivering at the close proximity. My arms wrapped around her unconciously as my hands lowered to cup her rear gently, my knuckles skimmed against a wall. A furious and lethal growl reached my ears as my head dipped lower and lower toward Dakota. I heard her squeal in fear and barely noticed the whole time she was backing away from me, tears dripping from those beautiful eyes. I snarled at whomever growled, coming face to face with Kayse. Shadows covered his face but that didn't hide the harsh glow of his gold eyes, the eyes of his wolf. Suddenly, Kayse Ronan wasn't there and the crack of bones and tearing of muscle alerted my hazy mind of his shift. Kayse had a huge wolf, almost half a foot smaller than Alpha Heart himself. The wolf was a honey russet color, eyes the same as Kayse's but glowing with unbridled fury. I turned to be in front of Dakota, but she was already gone and sobbing into wolf Kayse's furry shoulder. I saw her look up at me and through her reddened, wet eyes I saw a flicker of something. I couldn't tell what it was but I know this isn't good for me. Kayse nuzzled Dakota toward the door and away from any males. As soon as she was near the door he launched at me. Since I was entranced by Dakota, I didn't get the chance to shift. I knew Kayse was going to kill me once I heard his gutteral growl at everyone to leave. Everyone left but the beautiful Dakota.
