Chapter 4

After walking for a while, we finally arrived at Shimuru, It was day time by now, so we had some time to figure out what happened.

Looking at the village, everything looks normal, people looked happy, everyone was talking.

Tanjiro was still holding my hand. Walking into the village Tanjiro stopped walking, "eh?, Tanjiro?" I asked.

Tanjiro sniffed the air, "Demon scent, It's faint, but it was here". It still amazes me how good he can smell.

"We need to stay here until night time, there is more then 1.. no.. 3 Demons here" Tanjiro continued walking.

While we continued to walk, Tanjiro scouted around, "Y/n, do you remember where you live?" he asked.

Nodding my head, I pointed down a street, "I live there, but I doubt my parents would want to see me".

"I'm sure your brother would be happy to see you" Tanjiro said before walking into the street.

Okay, calm down Y/n, Its not like you havent seen your parents for a few months, still.

"There" I point to a house. Tanjiro nods and squeezes my hand before walking towards the house.

Stopped at the front door, I knock.

Expecting my parents to open the door, I brace myself. To my surprise, Haru opens the door, "Y-Y/n?!" he stared at me in shock. "Hey Haru!" I smile. All of a sudden I felt myself being picked up, Haru was a lot taller then me. "I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD, AFTER YOU DISAPPEARED" He said.. well more like yelled.

And Hugged me tightly. "H-Haru, can't.... *huff* Breath" He was hugging me so tightly, I could not even breath. "Oh?... right sorry" he said and put me down.

He looked past me and saw Tanjiro standing behind me "Who's he?... Your Boyfriend?" He smirked. "HARU?!" I shouted, my face as red as a tomato. "I-... I'm Tanjiro Kamado" His face was also blood red.

Haru laughed at us before ruffling my hair. "Where is Mom and Dad?" I asked. "They are in the living room, if they say anything mean, don't let em get to you" Haru said before letting both me and Tanjiro inside.

This house has not changed a bit, Haru went into his room to get something, I was able to muster up the courage to go into the living room.

And as soon as my Dad saw me, his face went to anger, my mother, looked at me in shock, tears forming in her eyes. "WHY YOU LITTLE, WHY DID YOU COME BACK HERE!?" dad stood up as he yelled. My mom trying to hold him back.

"LIFE WAS BETTER WITHOUT YOU HERE!" He yelled. Life was... better....without me?... I felt my heart break, he has never said anything like that before, and I mean never.

Dad broke lose from moms grip and started walking towards me, his face was red with Anger. Before he would reach me, Tanjiro stepped in front of me, "Don't you dare lay a finger on her!".

Dad stopped in his tracks. "How could someone be so mean to their own child!" Tanjiro yelled. "SHE IS USELESS!, SHE IS WEAK!, I REGRET HAVING A DAUGHTER LIKE HER!, WHY CAN'T SHE BE LIKE HARU FOR ONCE!" Dad yelled.

I think... walking into the living room was not a good idea. At this point, Tanjiro was also upset of what Dad just called me. He could not see my sword since I was behind Tanjiro. But mom could, she was staring at me, with shock and tears on her face.

"A parent being mean to their own child?!, It disgusts me, and just so you know, Y/n is not useless!" Tanjiro replied.

"DAD THATS ENOUGH!" Haru yelled "Y/n, Tanjiro come". We nodded and went to his room. He shut the door behind us.

I was still trying to prosses what just happened, "Y/n?, are you Alright?" Haru asked. I nodded. We sat down on the floor, Tanjiro sitting next to me, making sure I was okay. "Wait... why are you here?" Haru looked at me. "We are on the Hunt for a Demon, have you not heard?" I replied.

"Ohhh yeah, I was wondering why you came here all of a sudden" Haru said, "Wait Demon.....are both of you... Demon slayers!?".

"Yep!" I said. Haru looked shocked, "Wait-huh- HOW?".

"Right, I forgot to tell you, without anyone knowing, I started training by myself, after a year, I got a lot stronger, and that's when I decided to leave, and I went to final Selection, and now, here I am" I explained.

Haru's mouth dropped "Wow... that's so cool!". Both me and Tanjiro laughed. "We cannot stay for long, we need to find this Demon, we can set out when its night time" Tanjiro said and I nodded.

The 3 of us talked for a while, until night time came. "We will be back!" I said. "Please be careful" Haru replied. We nodded and walked out the door.

The town was quite at this time of night. So we could hear every sound. "I have their scent" Tanjiro said.

I slowly nodded as we started towards them. "Are they near?" I asked and Tanjiro nodded.

We turned the Corner.... and saw the Demons... Eating... humans...

One of the Demons look up and straight at us "Looks like we have more food". All 3 of them stare at us. "Oh how fun!" Another Demon said, Licking the blood from its hand. They see our swords "Demon slayers huh?, ha bet they are weak!" the Demon said.

Both me and Tanjiro got our swords out. "Nah, not so fast!" one of them said, In a sudden movement, Vines went up my legs, Making me unable to move.

"Y/n!" Tanjiro yelled. "I'm fine!, It's blood Demon art! we need to keep a eye on them, who knows what they can do!" I yelled back, cutting the Vines off my legs. Tanjiro nodded.

With that, we started to fight these ugly things. So far, only two have blood Demon art, One with Vines and Another with fire.

Tanjiro killed the one without the Art, so it was just those other two.

"Just die Already, you damn Human!" The demon shouted, shooting vines towards me. I deflected them with my sword. And Dodging the ones from the floor. Tanjiro was fighting the other Demon, it shooting flames in every Direction.

I was able to get close enough to slice its head off, at the same time Tanjiro killed the other Demon.

Damn things.... eating the poor souls....Me and Tanjiro prayed over the people who died, We went back home right after.
