The calling of her name didn't startle her, but she was intrigued as to who was calling her. She manoeuvred her body slightly to not disturb Crookshanks, who was resting his body up against her thigh and turned back to see who had been calling.

It was Angelina Johnson. She had been the one calling, but Lucy Wood -George's girlfriend of a year- walked just next to her.

Hermione and Lucy had become quite close since the Yule Ball after the 'Ron incident'. Angelina had been there too that night but Lucy was the one whose shoulder Hermione had cried into.

She'd almost consider the girl a best friend at this stage. If they sat together at lunch more then she would probably be her best, best friend by now. But they were in completely different years and it wasn't easy to find time to hang out.

"What are you doing here all by your lonesome?" Lucy asked as she rounded the bench to take a seat and pet Crookshanks, "Just thought it was a nice evening to sit out and read." Hermione closed her book and rested it on her lap.

Lucy smiled back at her until Angelina tapped her shoulder, nagging her for something. It confused Hermione but she watched on, all the same, waiting for an explanation.

"Just say it, Angie, that's why we're here isn't it?" Lucy whispered but not in a secretive way, probably to show Hermione that Angelina wanted to talk.

Eventually, Angie turned towards Hermione as she rested her elbows on the back of the bench, "I was wondering if you could help me with a favour..." She mumbled.

"Oh, well what is the favour, I'm sure I'll be able to help." Hermione smiled politely. It was rare of the girls to come for favours that required something of a nerve-wracking stature. Angie took a quiet breath, nothing too noticeable or out of the blue.

"You have a good relationship with Fred, don't you?"

Hermione nodded and then quickly cringed as she thought back on her last proper conversation with him, "It's a bit rocky at the moment but yeah I guess we have an okay relationship..." Then her mind wandered to the kiss she shared with him but, as best as she could, shunned it away fast.

Lucy looked a tad puzzled by Hermione's response but didn't have any time to ask questions before Angie continued, "Well I was wondering if you could help me set him up with...a friend." She stumbled on the words 'a friend'.

"Oh for goodness sakes, Ang!" Lucy rolled her eyes and Angie smiled guiltily, "The 'friend' is her. She wants you to help set her up with Fred. You could help me with that Hermione, right?"

That was the real question...'right?'. It seemed like the right thing to do. She knew Fred Weasley, she knew his prankster side and his caring side, and how she enjoyed both. 'In a friendly way' she internally reminded herself.

All she had to do was help her Fred-FRIEND! Friend...yes, friend. How hard could it be?

"I mean I could surely try-"

"Oh, Hermione, thank you!" Angie interrupted but Hermione quickly spoke up again.

"I don't know how much I can do about it all at the moment but I'll help where I think suits." She warned, still very aware of her situation with the young man. All this seemed to go right over Angie's head however, as she squealed in excitement, "That's more than alright! Really?! Thank you!" She beamed.

Hermione tried her best to suppress her thoughts and convincingly smiled back.

Lucy was dragged away by Angie again soon enough, after a bit of theorising and planning possible situations where they might be able to aid Angie and Fred towards a possible relationship.
