Guardians of The Wolves

Chapter 9

After we are all done eating and most everyone has left, I tell Lex that I'm going to go to my fathers study to ask him some questions, he insists on coming, but promises that he will stay outside the door. I walk to the door of dad's study and knock, he says come in and Lex opens the door for me, I walk in and sit in the chair in front of his desk. "So what can I do for you sweets?" he asks in a kind voice, "well, I just had a few questions," I say and he nods for me to continue, "So first, I obviously wasn't of age when I was kidnapped, so I want to know how to shift and I wanted to know if I could look around the city, the only time I  got to see it was on the drive here." He looks a little upset when I mention the kidnapping part, but other then that this is going pretty well. "First, you can go were ever you want, as long as Alexander is with you. Second, as for the shifting part, I can set up a time today or tomorrow and I can teach you if you would like," he says and that makes me really happy, "yes please, I would really like that," I say and make my way to the door. "I'll call you and tell you when," he says and I say alright. When I leave the room, Lex is standing outside as promised. I start snickering, "what are you laughing at?" he questions and I just shake my head, "please tell me," he says, "he said that I could, and I quote 'go anywhere I wanted as long as Alexander is with you," He grunts at thing and I just laugh harder, he isn't a big fan of his name, that's why I came up with Lex, when we were younger. No one else but me is allowed to call him that though, to every one he is Alex, except my father, who insists on using his full name. "So other than him butchering me internally, what did you two talk about?" he asks, curious. "Well I just asked him if he could teach me to shift since I was kidnapped before I came of age and was spelled, preventing me from shifting naturally," I say and he had the same reaction to me mentioning the kidnapping. Jaw clenched, visibly upset. To change the topic, I asks if he would go with me to the city to explore and lead me around, maybe show me a few good places to eat or have fun. Of course he agreed, and we set off.

We decided to take my baby, my car, and we are now walking around a few shops. My dad gave me his card before I left since I don't have my own yet, which he said that he would get me before I got back. We ended up walking around a few shops and i saw this beautiful little boutique, making Lex come with me we went in and it was just as amazing on the inside. i got three dresses and one pair of shoes. Surprise surprise, there all dark colors.

They are all pretty simple, but they are beautiful none the less. After I don't find anything else to do and am bored with shopping, Lex takes me to this little cafe and it's the cutest thing ever. "This place is adorable," I say and lex just looks at me and agrees, "I really like how homie it feels, and I've known the owner for forever," he says, looking around. Then someone screamed and Lex immediately covers me, but then he has this look of realization on his as he turns around, still infron of me though, just in case. I peek around him and see this little old lady come up and hug Lex, and a real hug at that, not some side, one arm shit. No, this was almost like when I hug him. When she lets go, she starts rambling on how she hasn't seen him in forever and how her should come in more often. That is until she sees me, then she stops altogether and just stares at me. "Um, Hi. Lex who is this,' I say and whisper that last part. "Wait, Lex? Alex, is is really her"she asks and comes and hugs me, then it hit me. "I pull away and really look at her, "wait, Grammy? Is it really? I ask and she smiles. "Yeah, it's me pumpkin. You wouldn't believe how much I missed you," Grammy says and walks me over to a table. It took me awhile, but I finally remembered this place. When Lex and I were kids, we used to come here at least three time a week just for the donuts that Grammy made. She wasn't actually our grandma, but it felt like it, so we always called her Grammy.

We've talking with Grammy for about and hour and then i get a text from my dad, it reads, 'hey sweets, i have time at six of you want to come back and I can teach you.' I reply, 'yeah sure, that sounds great.' Then I look at the time and see it's five-thirty. I tell Lex telepathically and he tells Grammy that we need to get going but will come back soon. We leave and Lex puts my stuff in the car. I hop in my Hummer and wait for Lex to get in before starting back to the castle.

I got changed and am not in sweats and a t-shirt, Dad told me to wear something old so it's not a big deal if it gets ripped. I see the is big ass wolf walk out of the forest and am slightly scared, until I recognize his eyes, it's dad. He is a massive brown wolf, then I see a slightly smaller one walk out, it's as black as night, mom.
