Episode: Omega
The scent had led the group right to the Hale house. It was still abandoned, but there were new beams on the porch as if it was under construction. The mere sight reemerged unwanted memories. Thaís could still feel the energy left from that night. She could smell the smoke and hear the bad man's croaky breaths. Being here right now was like torture.
But the softer aura pulled her away from those negative thoughts - Lydia.
"She came here?" Stiles turned to his werewolf friends with an incredulous expression. "Are you two sure?"
Scott nodded faintly, "Yeah, this is where the scent leads."
Stiles took a few steps forward, the rest following, before spinning abruptly. "Alright, but has Lydia ever been here?"
The archer shook her head, "Not with me."
"I don't think she even knows this place exists." The other girl replied.
The buzzcut-haired teenager sighed, letting his hands fall to his sides cluelessly, and continued his trek up the small hill. Thaís walked beside him, looking for a sign of her friend, but all she could feel of her were faint remnants.
Allison theorized, "Maybe she came here on instinct like she was looking for Derek."
Thaís spun around, pouting worriedly, "You mean looking for an Alpha?"
She nodded. "Wolves need a pack, right?"
"Not all of them." Scott disagreed, mainly talking about himself and Thaís.
"Yeah, they're called lone wolves," Thaís commented.
Allison's eyebrows creased, "But would she have been drawn to an Alpha? Is it an instinct to be part of a pack?"
"Yeah." Scott nodded. "We're stronger in packs."
"Like strength in numbers?" Thaís' gaze flashed with curiosity.
The other werewolf shook his head, "No, Thai, like we're literally stronger, faster, better in every way."
Allison frowned. "Is that the same for an Alpha?"
Scott nodded, understanding the dangerous side effect. "That'll make Derek stronger, too." They glanced at the house, curious if Derek was even there.
Thaís clenched her jaw nervously, scrutinizing the structure hatefully. The last thing we need is another Peter.
Leaves rustled behind them. "Woah, hey, look at this?" Stiles called out, making them turn around. Allison walked in his direction and immediately recognized the thin string he was carefully inspecting. "You see this?"
"Do you sense anything else?" Scott questioned Thaís.
She pursed her lips, "Not really. Her energy is really faint. I don't think -"
"I think it's a tripwire."
Before either werewolf could foresee, their feet were pulled from underneath them, and their heads collided. They groaned in pain. She allowed her arms to dangle loosely just as she peered her eyes open. Thaís blinked fast, the upside-down perspective taking her off guard and nearly inducing her to throw up. Blood was beginning to rush to her head.
"Stiles?" Scott grumbled as he swayed beside his friend.
"Yeah, buddy." The culprit muttered and turned to see the pair dangling by their ankles on a single rope. His eyes widened, "Oh."
"Oh?" Thaís glared, causing his lips to curl up in amusement. Meanwhile, Allison had placed a hand over her mouth to stop herself from laughing at their minor predicament.
