A week after the start of term, Ravenclaw played Slytherin – a match that Vega and the rest of her friends turned up to watch as well. Slytherin won, though narrowly, and mostly because of their Chasers. Vega was surprised to see that Blaise Zabini had joined their team all of a sudden.
"When did he join the team?" Vega mentioned out loud to her friends, frowning in confusion. "I thought he was too 'cool' to take part in such stuff – plus he's only a decent Chaser,"
"Bought his way into the team?" Fred suggested from next to her as they watched the scoring. "Malfoy did it – why wouldn't it inspire others? His mother's rich,"
"I suppose so..." Vega replied as she looked up to see the Ravenclaw Seeker. "They've got a new Seeker this year, too... Cho Chang, right? She's an excellent Seeker,"
"Not any better than you, love," Fred replied and Vega rolled her eyes, breathing through her nose to silence her chuckles as she smacked his arm.
"What makes you so sure?" Vega inquired. "You haven't even seen me play as a Seeker, have you?"
The narrow win, however, was good news for Gryffindor in according to Wood. He was sure that they would take second place if they beat Ravenclaw, too – and therefore, he increased the number of team practices to five a week, something that the entire team was expecting him to do.
With team practices five times a week and twelve subjects every week, Vega barely only had just one night a week to finish with all of her homework, even with continuously using the Time-Turner.
Not to mention the weekly Anti-Dementor class with Lupin which often weighed in heavily on her.
Yet still, somehow, Vega was able to hold it better than Hermione did. It was true that they could be found often sitting in the corner of the common room with several tables dedicated to the two –
Entirely spread with textbooks, Arithmancy charts, rune dictionaries, diagrams of Muggles lifting heavy objects, rolls of parchment and several inkpots, and file upon file of extensive notes.
"I have to continuously use the Time-Turner," Vega muttered to Hermione as she rolled up the parchment containing her Transfiguration homework. "Sometimes, I don't know which one is real,"
Rather than responding to her, Hermione reacted with snapping at the second-year who walked by.
"You know, I think you should drop Divination and Muggle Studies," Vega told her firmly. "You've got a bit too much on your plate – especially with Hagrid and Buckbeak's case,"
Vega was trying her best to keep their time-travelling as vague as she could but Hermione's inability to turn down a question was soon going to cost them their secret. Even Ron was getting suspicious.
"How are they doing it?" Ron muttered to Harry one evening as the two of them sat together to complete a rather nasty essay on Undetectable Poisons for Snape.
"Doing what?" Harry asked, glancing up to see Vega and Hermione behind a nearby tottering pile of books, working on their own homework.
"Getting to all their classes!" Ron said. "I heard Hermione talking to Professor Vector, that Arithmancy witch, this morning. They were going on about yesterday's lesson, but Hermione can't have been there, because she was with us in Care of Magical Creatures! And Ernie McMillan told me neither of them has ever missed a Muggle Studies class, but half of them are at the same time as Divination, and they've never missed one of them either!"
"Do you need help with the potions essay?" Vega spoke up, putting an end to their 'exclusive' conversation. She stood up, rolling her last piece of homework. "I can help you out,"
