A/N: Hello, I wanted to post before his birthday was over (kst)! This fic will have another chapter or two. I'm not abandoning the others but I need to prioritise finishing this first since it's so short. I hope you enjoy this! Yujin is a lot like Miya...only different.

---------------

Yujin was a surprise birthday gift.

"Hello, can you help me please? I lost my daddy" were the first words she said. It was rather polite but informal in the way that children were permitted to. It was also infinitely cute and made Hyunjin coo out loud and crouch down.

"Hello there. Good job seeking help! Where did you see your daddy last?" he asked gently, trying to seem as innocuous and small as possible to not scare the child away while also freaking out a little that someone had trust him with finding someone. Hyunjin couldn't even find something. Most times he lost his ear pods and sometimes his dignity when he found them right where they should have been. In his ears.

"By the cereals" she pointed in a direction which he was sure was not that of the cereals.

But she tugged his hand and he nearly felt over; so he followed her. She indeed took him in a section that was not cereals.

"Didn't you say cereals?" he asked.

"Yes cereals. Look." She pointed at a big TV. "moving pictures. Cereals. The one daddy doesn't like to watch all that much but there is one he likes."

Oh. Serials! As in tv dramas. He internally cooed at this child who seemed so sweet and bright. Later he'll find out that she wasn't that sweet. He closed his eyes and made his birthday wish early: that this child isn't harrowed down by life, that people don't harm or try to break her. He wished that her shine was lustred.

"Well, what does your daddy look like?" he asked, turning his head here and there even though he didn't know what he was looking for.

"Well, he's almost as tall as you. I too will be tall one day. I'm not that tall because I'm three! Oh my daddy also has dark hair. He changes his hair. Did he have his fringe up or down today? I can't remember!" she huffed and stomped her feet. Her little jump was springy. He concluded this was an athletic child. As quick as she got frustrated, she calmed down and he was once more charmed by her ephemerality. "He was wearing a sweater with a bear. He didn't want to wear it but I told him it looked good on him, so he did."

This was a very chatty three-year-old if she was to be believed in her age. Children had a tendency to confuse numbers. Sometimes he was commissioned portraits for children and they tended to be all over the place. Yet he preferred them to stony adults; their colours added to the beauty of the portrait. Emotions inspired him and he felt very inspired right now.

"Right, let's go around and try to fin-"

"Yujin!" a shout interrupted him. The child turned around and squealed "daddy".

The child was named Yujin it seemed.

A man came up to them looking visibly shaky. His hands shook the shopping cart in his hands.

"How many times have I told you not to run away like that?" he said. He didn't shout however but he expressed his displeasure through his tone and expression indicating that he was not pleased with the child running away. Hyunjin liked him and his parenting style instantly and respected it even more when the man asked "Why don't we run away?" and the child – Yujin- took time to answer with many replies.

"But it's okay! I won't do it again and look, I found this man who was helping me finding you!"

The man than looked at him.
