sooyun could hear her heartbeat thumping against her chest and she swallowed harshly. she glanced at minji, who was practically trembling with fear. sooyun stepped towards her and grabbed her hands. minji looked down at their hands then back up at her.

"i'm going to check it out," sooyun whispered and minji's eyes widened, her head shaking slowly at first then frantically. sooyun squeezed minji's hands reassuringly. "it's going to be okay, min."

"no, don't leave me," minji croaked out. she was terrified. there was no way that this was just a coincidence. sooyun let go of her hands and tears filled her eyes. she was practically trembling. "no, soo.. please."

"it's going to be okay, i promise," sooyun whispered and minji shook her head again. sooyun stepped back, ignoring minji's pleas. sooyun took slow steps towards the bathroom door, her hand hesitating. she swallowed the lump forming in her throat and opened the door.

sooyun stepped out of the bathroom and into the hallway. the lights had been shut off, the only light emitting from a single classroom. a shiver ran down sooyun's spine. she felt watched. hunted.

she heard a banging from around the corner and she jumped. she looked behind her towards the school entrance, chewing on the inside of her mouth. no, she thought to herself. i cant leave minji.

there was another banging sound, making sooyun turn her attention back to the other end of the hall. then there was footsteps. sooyun grit her teeth together and balled her hands into fists. just as she was about to take a step forward, a figure stalked around the corner.

they had a baseball bat in their hand, presumably the device that had caused all the crashing and banging. they were also wearing their school uniform and had a black cat mask on. she couldn't see their face. but from the shape of the body and the uniform, sooyun could tell it was a boy.

the cafeteria doors slammed open and another boy walked out. as he walked closer to the other one, sooyun saw that he was also holding a bat. sooyun's fingernails dug deeper into her palms when the boy stopped walking and fell into place beside the other boy.

the two boys just stood there, staring at her. she could feel the hairs on the back of her neck stand up with fear. she wanted to scream for help, but there was no use. everyone except the cleaners were gone.

one of the boys stepped closer, their sneakers scuffing against the tile in a horrifying screech. sooyun took a step back. then suddenly both boys started running towards her. sooyun felt her stomach drop and she stumbled towards the bathroom door.

she flung it open and minji stumbled backwards. "what is it?" she asked. sooyun shook her head and ignored her, rushing into the bathroom and turning around to push the door close. "soo?"

before sooyun could respond, something slammed against the door and both girls screamed. sooyun pushed her body against the door, looking frantically for a way to lock it. but there was nothing. "get back!" sooyun yelled and minji backed away.

something slammed against the door and sooyun lost her balance. she fell to the ground and the bathroom door opened. one of the boys raised his bat and swung it at sooyun, hitting her shoulder hard. sooyun yelped and felt minji grab her other arm.

"come on!' minji cried. sooyun let minji help her off of the ground then they both ran into an empty stall. minji quickly flipped the latch and they backed away as far as they could from the door.

the two boys came over and stood on the other side of the door. one grabbed the top of the door with both hands and started shaking it. the girls screamed and tears welled up in minji's eyes.

the boys started beating their bats against the door and minji's tears rolled down her cheeks. her hand found sooyun's and she squeezed it tight. they continued to beat the door and with each hit, minjis grip got tighter on sooyun's hand.

then suddenly it stopped. and sooyun saw their shadows disappear from the small gap underneath the stall door. it was quiet for a little while then sooyun heard the bathroom door open and close.

sooyun looked over at minji. "i think they're gone," she said. minji just stared blankly at her, not knowing what to say. sooyun looked down at her hand and minji folllowed her gaze. she quickly let go and clutched both of her hands in front of her.

sooyun unlatched the door quietly. "wait.." minji protested. "what if they're just hiding outside of the bathroom?'

"we'll just have to find out," sooyun responded and minji just looked at her hands. sooyun opened the door and peaked out. when she didn't see either of the boys, she turned back to look at minji. but minji was already looking at something. "what is it?"

"the mirror," minji said. sooyun turned back towards the mirror and another shiver ran down her spine. she stepped closer and minji followed suit.

snitches get stitches. you're next, sooyun.

— k.k.

"does this mean killerkitten is coming after you now?" minji asked but sooyun couldn't say anything. she felt frozen. "who the hell is doing this?"

sooyun's phone vibrated from her jacket pocket. she pulled it out and saw that she had a message from jeongin.

jeongin
heard you've been looking for me. i found something. come to mine asap

sooyun typed up a quick response and put her phone back into her pocket. she looked at minji. "i'm not sure yet, but i'm going to find out," sooyun said. "jeongin said he found something. you coming?"

minji glances at the mirror then back at sooyun. she nods, "okay, let's go."
