Mephone stood still in the middle of the cave. His breath was shaky, and his body was trembling . He had his finger over the "delete memories" button. He wanted to, he could, and he felt like he must, but he thought about Mepads words. Those words were screwed into his brain, and he honestly felt like, even if he were to delete his memories, he would never forget about them. "Is this what he would actually want?" He pondered. Did his creator really want him to forget about this and move on? Start a new life? He heard a loud thunder in the distance, then the soft patter of rain. He wasn't going to leave anytime soon, and he would be left alone. He had his finger an inch away from the button, and almost pressed it, until he heard the sound of walking in the distance.

"Mephone?" He heard a voice call out. He immediately jolted up to see a familiar orange figure, holding a big navy blue umbrella. "Oh. It's you.." Mephone said, looking up at OJ. "Why're you in this cave? Did you need shelter?" OJ asked, holding his hand out to help the phone. "How did you even notice me in here?" Mephone asked, grabbing OJs hand to pull himself up. "I saw your glow, it's pretty bright, wait-". OJ finally noticed the button on Mephones screen. He began to read it aloud, his expression quickly changing to more of a shocked than a confused one.

"You., wanted to delete your own memories?" OJ asked. The glass looked down at his hand, which was still gently holding Mephones. He gripped harder, digging his thumb into Mephones metal palm. "Why would you even care, 'J?" The phone asked, not having the courage to pull away. He felt so lonely, and OJs touch felt, for some odd reason, quite comforting to him. OJ, without thinking, held the umbrella above Mephone, and slowly began to lead him outside.

"OJ?" Was all the phone could think of to say. "Come on, I'm taking you back to hotel. Trust me, it'll be much more comfortable to rest in than this cave." OJ firmly said, making sure the umbrella was above Mephone one last time, before taking him outside the cave. Mephone let go of OJs hand to grab on to the top of the umbrellas rod. The two silently walked back to the hotel, not even looking at eachother. Once they had finally arrived, OJ knocked on the door, happy to find Paper greeting him.

"Hey OJ!- Mephone..?". The slip of paper seemed confused, why would OJ bring Mephone4 back to this hotel? "Paper, can you get a few blankets and pillows? I'm going to get Mephone acquainted upstairs." OJ asked, patting Mephone on the shoulder. "Right, I can get some stuff." Paper said, making his way to a nearby storage closet. Meanwhile, OJ lowered his umbrella, grabbing Mephones hand to drag him upstairs. Mephone allowed him to, jumping behind him. They made it up into OJ and Papers room, and Mephone slid under the covers of OJs bed. He was so exhausted from everything, he held onto OJs wrist.

"Mephone, I'll be back in a second, let go of my arm." OJ said softly. Mephone, who didn't even realize he was still holding on, let go of OJs arm, allowing him to go off. Mephone stared at the wall, beginning to drift off. OJs bed sheets were so soft, and they had a faint orange scent. He closed his eyes one more time, and the blue light on his screen dimmed, then turned off completely, as his system shut off.

OJ came back into the room, finding the phone asleep. He placed the cup of hot chocolate and plate of cookies on the side table. As he pulled a blanket on the bed, throwing it over Mephone, he felt the same metal hand grab his wrist. OJ sighs, sliding under the covers beside the asleep phone. He puts his cork in, before laying down, snuggling into Mephones arms. Mephone cuddled him, holding the back of OJs head, pressing it against his chest. The glass cup quickly fell asleep, happy in the warmth of the covers and Mephones smooth metal arms.
