As soon as Dream recognizes the sound of his alarm, his eyes shoot open as he sits up on his couch.
Why is he on the couch?
He reached into his pocket and pulls out his phone, seeing that it's only noon.
[Squad Meet-Up: Today]
[Set for May 23rd]"Oh shit."
Now he realizes why he was falling asleep on his couch; it's because he couldn't sleep last night, too excited and nervous for today.
He'd gone on a cleaning spree, successfully taking his mind off of them while he scrubbed his counters. He'd cleaned everywhere he could, all bedrooms and bathrooms, the living room, and the kitchen.
Dream groans as he sits up from the couch, neck sore from sleeping with his head in the crook of the armrests. He stretches his legs as he stands, then makes his way to his bedroom.
He plugs his phone into his charger before walking to his dresser, opting for grab his favorite pair of ripped black jeans and a loose t-shirt.
Once he sets his clothes on the bathroom counter, he turns on the shower. He reaches out to touch the water, cool and refreshing against his palm, but that's not what Dream wants though. He wants the water hot enough to take his mind off of them. He can't even think of their names, then it would be too real.
Today would be real.
The water is hot enough to make his skin blossom pink.
"Perfect."
It works for a while, the hot water. He doesn't think about them when he's washing his hair; he's too focused on the sound of water hitting his skin and he doesn't think of them when he's washing his hair.
But he does think of them when he steps out of the hot water, he thinks of them as he wraps a towel around his hips and walks to the sink. He thinks of them when he looks at himself in the mirror, the pink on his cheeks reminds him of what today is.
He thinks of George and Sapnap.
He might actually get the chance to see them. Dream hopes he sees them. He hopes that he sees them now, tomorrow, and forever.
"But that's just wishful thinking," he has to remind himself that even if the possibility is right here, it might not happen. But then again, he's so fucking nervous that they might come, it can be real, he could be seeing them. He wants to see them, and he really hopes he will.
He has virtually no idea where they are right now, they could still be in England and Texas, or they could've moved.
He has no way of knowing if they've even remembered, but he has hope. Dream loves George and Sapnap so much that he'd wait to see them for 10 more years if that's what they want.
If they came here and asked to never see them again, it would hurt, but he'd probably do it. Dream just wants them to be happy.
He's been standing at his sink, staring at his reflection with only a towel on for at least a couple of minutes. He's still standing for a while before he drys himself off and reaches for his clothes to pull them on.
Once he's dressed he ruffles his hair until it dries, brushes his teeth, and leaves the bathroom.
Dream doesn't realize what time it was until his stomach grumbles, annoyed at the lack of food. He takes his phone from the charger and walks to his kitchen, surprised to see that it's already 1:42.
There's some pizza in his fridge from a couple of days ago, so once he walks to the fridge he pulls out the box. When he sets it onto the counter and opens it he grabs the last slice.
