POS Sophie
I'm starting a brand new job, I'm going to work for the Yamaha team in Moto GP! I am so excited. The first grand prix is in a week, but I'm really looking forward to it.
March 3, 2022 Qatar Grand Prix
Finally the first day of the first grand prix of the season, I cross the paddock with other people of the team. I don't listen to the conversation, I'm too distracted by everything that's happening around me. Suddenly my eyes meet another person's. It's Joan Mir, he nods to me to greet me I guess. I'm not going to deny it, I've been watching Moto GP since I was a little girl and since his arrival in this category, I've always found him very attractive. But I didn't come here to find a lover.
Later Fabio calls me.
Fabio: Sophie! So how did it go with your debut?
Sophie: As far as my work is concerned, I think I can say that it's going well for the moment. For your bike on the other hand it is more complicated as far as I can see.
Fabio: Yes, I hope to be able to do a good qualifying tomorrow.
Sophie: That's what we all hope!
I give him a pat on the shoulder and I go to join the team when I hear Fabio calling me back.
Fabio: By the way, I almost forgot but Joan Mir asked me for your phone number.
Sophie: And you gave it to him?
Fabio: No, I wanted to ask you first where you didn't want to go. And if you had a boyfriend too, it's not for him.
Sophie: Well, it's nice of you to ask my opinion before giving my number to any guy who comes along. Then I'm a sweetheart. And you can give him my number.
Fabio: Okay! I'll give it to him later.
That night in my hotel room
* Incoming call *
I don't know this number. Could it be Joan? Fabio was supposed to give him my number.
Sophie: Hello?
? : Sophie?
Sophie: Yes...
? : It's Joan ! Joan Mir in the Suzuki team.
Sophie: The Joan who asks my number to a member of my team instead of coming to talk to me directly?
Joan: Yes, it was a little childish of me to do that, but I didn't dare to come directly to you.
Sophie: Am I that scary?
Joan: Haha no, on the contrary
I hear her say "on the contrary" it was almost inaudible because the sound of her voice was so low. I start to blush instantly.
Joan: Would you be willing to meet me?
Sophie: I'm very busy right now with the Grand Prix, but when are you leaving? I'm flying out on Monday night, so could we do this during the day?
Joan: I'm leaving late afternoon on Monday! That's great!
Sophie: Can we agree on a time on Sunday night?
Joan: Perfect! I can't wait Good evening.
* Call to finish *
I'm really happy. I want to do a happy dance so much! I was looking forward to the grand prize and now I'm especially looking forward to it ending.
March 7th 2022
The day of the appointment is finally here! We planned to meet, in a park not far from the hotel where I am.
We spent two or three hours together and I had a very good time. We went for a walk. No one came to ask for a picture or an autograph, frankly it relieved me, it took away the impression of having a date with a famous motorcycle rider. I was just with a boy I like and who likes me too. We talked a lot and I almost feel like I know everything about his life now. As time went by, I enjoyed being with him more and more. And so did he. Then it was time for his plane to arrive, he walked me back to the hotel. And I went ahead and kissed him. He didn't push me away which is a good sign!
Joan: Oh that was
Sophie: nice.
Joan: Yes, that's the right word: nice.
Sophie: I'll see you later in the week?
Joan: I promise! I'll call you tomorrow.
He kissed me back and then left, waving.

Fabio: So, did you get it?
Sophie: We kissed!
