A Fight With Egghead

There was a scream and the three guys ran and saw Eggman attacking with robots, "Attack!"

"Oh, come on!" Sonic rolled his eyes. "Come on guys, let's bust some heads!"

"Agreed," Shadow nodded and Roger ran and punched some robots away.

"Oh, hey guys!" Sara kicked another robot. Silver, Scarlet, and Alexzander were with her, "Fancy seeing you here!"

"Not really...," Scarlet mumbled while rolling her eyes. Shadow smirked and they both spin dashed into some bee bots.

"Agh, not you guys again!" Eggman grunted. "No matter, you won't defeat me this time!"

"Don't be so sure, Egghead!" Sonic laughed, he jumped up and destroyed a few motorbugs. Alex and Roger quickly glanced at eachother, the Spirit grabbed his friend by the foot and spun in a circle while the fox had his fist out- punching robots and making them blow up.

"Show off!" Scarlet yelled at the boys. "But clever!"

After destroying the robots Eggman growled, "I'll be back, and next time with Hypno-bots! Evil Hypno-bots!" he flew off in his Eggmobile."

"Evil Hypno- shut your pie-hole!" Sara mimicked. Silver snorted while Roger rolled his eyes. "Why doesn't he just declare it already? He's stupid!"

"Yep!" Scarlet nodded and went over to help a Villigar. "Are you alright?"

"Yes miss, thanks for the help!" Scarlet pulled them to their feet.

"Just doing our job!" Silver told them. Alexzander nodded and they picked up the debris along the ground without trouble.

Roger walked away- whistling. Nothing seemed to change, as he walked a few Mobians greeted him and the fox nodded politely. Roger went back home but no one greeted him when he entered- strange.

His phone rang and Roger answered, "Hey Roger? We have a mission that needs to get done. You up for it?" Shadow asked.

"Is Ziggy a nut job?" The Cany fox told his friend. Shadow made an amused noise on the other end, "I'll be over as quick as I can!"

A few hours later, both boys were along Eggman's base. "Scouting mission, nothing more unless it poses a threat to the others. Got it?" The black hedgehog told Roger. He rolled his eyes but nodded.

They entered quietly and split up, after a few minutes the fox heard whispers. Roger lifted his gun, "What was that?" giggles now. "Who's there?"

A hedgehog suddenly appeared in front of the Cany fox. Roger yelped back in alarm and fired his tranq-gun but missed, he bore a striking resemblance to Shadow but had green eyes and stripes instead.

"W-who..., what..., where...?" Roger gulped in fear. The stranger chuckled but had no mouth- creeping out the fox.

"You're fear is amusing, young fox. I've been watching you for some time now, my name is Mephilies the Dark." The hedgehog remarked.

'Deep breath, Roge..., deep breath,' Roger thought with a shudder. "What do you want?" He growled.

"I'll tell you another time," Mephilies seemed to smirk and vanished. Roger blinked and alarms started blaring, so much for stealth...,

The Cyan fox ran until he found Shadow, "What happened!?" Roger shouted.

"No clue!" Shadow grabbed his friends' hand and they teleported away from the base. "That was close...,"

"No kidding...," Roger mumbled. "Hopefully nothing else is going to happen today!" Shadow nodded at him and they went their separate ways. Scarlet noticed Roger seemed on edge and that his gun broke.

'Is he okay?' She wondered with concern. "Roger?"

"WHAT!?" The Cyan fox snapped but didn't turn around. Scarlet blinked, something was definitely wrong...,

Before Scarlet could say anything the boy ran off, "Roger!" she called to him and sighed. Perhaps her boyfriend knew what was wrong with the fox.

Scarlet blushed a little just thinking about Shadow. She walked to where they usually met up-, sure enough, there he was, waiting for her.

"Hey!" Scarlet waved and sat next to Shadow. He looked and smiled at her.

"Hello Scarlet," The black hedgehog greeted his girlfriend. They held hands and gazed up at the clouds for a while, Scarlet forgot to ask about what was up with Roger until later.
