Kuroo was seated in 4th period when the bell sounded signaling it was lunchtime, soon after the bell went off Kuroo headed into an empty classroom on the highest floor. Cracking one the windows open with just enough space to squeeze himself through. He looks around outside making sure the coast is clear before making his escape. Carefully placing his fingertips and feet on the cold concrete wall, crawling his way up to the rooftop.
Jumping over the railing onto the rooftop he heard the faint sounds of an RPG game, something he would notice from anywhere. Taking steps towards the big metal box installed with a fan inside that seems to be making all that noise, the closer he got the more the sound seemed to be coming from behind it. Peeking around the corner he saw exactly who he expected, Kenma, to be more specific, Kozume Kenma, his boyfriend, childhood friend, and Spider-Man's guy in the chair.
"Whatcha playing this time?" Kuroo asked, sitting down next to the setter.
Kenma was a little too absorbed into the game to even answer his question, yet he was able to ask one of his own. "How did you get here? I didn't hear the door open."
Nervous, Kuroo hesitated a bit, "Uh, I made my own path?" He said, questioning his own answer.
Kenma paused his game, looking Kuroo in the eyes, "You went through a window didn't you?" Kenma concluded.
Kuroo looked back at him, smiling apologetically. Was it sort of unnecessary to get to the rooftop via a window and climbing the wall?
...
Yes.
Sure it might be less practical but definitely more trilling. But how in the world would Kuroo be able to logically explain that to Kenma? Well might as well go and say it, there's no use hiding it now.
"Ok so-"
Suddenly Kenma's phone lit up with a ping. It was his news app informing him about a car crash that happened in downtown Shibuya. They just looked at each other, no words exchanged, they weren't needed to understand the next step. Luckily the rooftop is probably the best place to make his escape. He quickly takes off his uniform, revealing the spider suit underneath. Kenma was scanning the area while Kuroo got ready for take off.
"Alright you should be good to go, I don't think anyone can see you from here at least not clearly, tell me if anything else happens while you're there."
"Got it, see you soon." The middle blocker said, giving Kenma a parting kiss on the forehead. "I probably won't make it back in time for the rest of my classes, but I'll be back for practice, cover for me?" Kuroo said, handing off his school bag to the setter.
"Fine, but remember 3:30pm for practice and also you owe me"
"Deal."
Kozume Kenma, his childhood best friend, boyfriend, teammate, and his guy in the chair.
The bed head didn't expect to hide his secret from him for long, Kuroo might be smart but Kenma's smarter, it only took a few months for Kenma to catch on, it probably would've took him less than a month to figure it out if they went to the same school at the time.
It was a pretty tiring day when it happened, it didn't even happen on purpose but by accident. Kuroo had just saved a family from a burning collapsing apartment building, so he was pretty banged up, without thinking about it he went through his bedroom window instead of changing and going through the front door, he tried his best not to make a sound by crawling on the ceiling which worked.
He gladly took off his mask, breathing out a sigh of satisfaction and exhaustion, ready to go to bed until he heard something hit the floor, turns out Kenma came to his house without warning, just sitting playing on his switch that just hit the floor, both boys had a look of shock on their faces.
