'The food is so delicious here, I always lose count of my calories,' Tina, one of Sophie's friends, remarked as she dug into a massive piece of roasted chicken.
'That should have been a statement from Sarah and not you, Tina,' Sophie replied, making the other girls laugh. Sarah dropped her fork and knife angrily and got ready for another verbal fight when Selena signaled her to calm down.
'Excuse me, girls, I need to use the washroom,' Selena got up from her chair and walked towards the washroom. Sophie ignored her and turned her attention to her friends.
'By the way, Sophie, your sisters' really put up a funny act on the dance floor,' Tina said, winking at Sophie to chide Sarah.
'Thank you, Tina, it is nice that you can find something funnier apart from you,' Sarah replied with a sarcastic smile, making Tina red in the face. 'Now, if you girls will excuse me, I need to get some dessert,' Sarah got up from her chair and walked towards the dessert counter.
Sophie looked around and then spoke hushedly, 'Girls, I need your help putting those two girls, especially Selena, in their place.'
'Why?' Sarita inquired with a confused face.
'I can't stand them both. Sarah was no less than an embarrassment that God punished me with that tramp of a cousin on me. After today's episode, it would be awkward to face all those people in the club next time,' Sophie replied with a frown.'We understand that Sophie, but we do not understand why you hate your sisters so much?' Tina inquired and looked at the other girls, who also seemed to have the same question playing in their minds.
'See, we understand sibling rivalry between you and Sarah, but what is it with Selena?' Sarita asked further while Sophie kept hitting a piece of chicken roast lying on her plate with a fork. 'I always detested Selena as she got everything she never deserved.'
'Like?'
'Like Selena is the most favorite child of my grandparents, she is rich as she was born to a glamorous actress mother...' Sophie bit her tongue as she unknowingly let out the information she was not supposed to let out about Selena.
'Glamorous actress mother! What do you mean?' the girls exclaimed and looked at each other in confusion.
'Oh, nothing... it was just a passing statement, nothing serious,' Sophie tried to avoid the answer.
'Sophie, please do not hide anything from us. We are your best friends,' Sarita replied, observing Sophie's uneasiness.
'Okay, fine. Let me tell you everything but promise me it will never reach anybody else's ears,'
'Yes, we promise,' the girls replied in unison.
'Okay... She was born to my aunt,' Sophie paused and cringed before she said, 'the famous 'Superstar' Malini,' and closed her eyes.
'What! Are you joking? No way. That tramp can't be the daughter of Malini,' Shilpa, one of the girls in the group, shouted out loud in shock while the other girls gasped at the revelation.'Sadly, but it is true,' Sophie replied grimly.
'Superstar Malini, is she the same who died a couple of years back?' Rita, another girl from the group who was not very clued to movie gossip, asked with a straight face.
'Yes,'
'Come on, look at her and Malini. She was like a dream. So beautiful. Gorgeous,' Sarita said with a dreamy look and continued, '...and Sophie, you never told us that Malini was your aunt.'
'Yes, because my parents forbade us from talking about it to anyone to avoid embarrassing questions about my aunt,' Sophie replied with a frown.
'Means she was your real aunt?' Tina inquired with curiosity.
