The students had settled on trying to find a phone in the bags the the students had left when every one started randomly attacking each other.
Sun-hee had tried telling the group that she still had her phone on her, but was simply ignored by the group as they continued to look for a device to help them. Eventually she just gave up and decided not to continue struggling in drawing their attention to her.
"Here!" I-sak exclaimed, everyone's eyes now on her, as they stopped what they were doing. "I found one". The group rushed to her, creating a circle around the girl. "Whose is it?" On-jo asked.
"This is Yeong-ju's desk" answered Ji-min. "Shit, it's locked" said I-sak in a frustrated whisper. Sun-hee was suddenly approached by Nam-ra.
"Why don't you tell them you have a phone?" her friend questioned gesturing to the device in her hand. "Tsk, they won't listen to me" she replied in a mumble. The two girls stared at each other as the rest of the group debated on what Yeong-ju's password on her phone was.
"She's over there give it" said Cheong-san as he grabbed the phone from I-sak, approaching Yeong-ju, who was now a zombie. He held the phone in front of her face to unlock the face ID.
"You're gonna have to get closer" noted Su-hyeok. Hesitating, but slowly doing so, Cheong-san got closer to the zombie.
"Aish, idiot's that not gonna work. She's a zombie now, and her face is covered in blood. The phone isn't gonna recognize her" Sun-hee explained. With this she finally managed to get every one's attention.
"Ok then if you're so smart what do you propose we do?" Na-yeon mocked. Sun-hee stood up, taking slow steps towards her, making the girl take a step back every time she did. When Na-yeon's back hit the wall, Sun-hee stood in front of her looking in her eyes. She held up her phone, Na-yeon letting out a gasp.
"How could you be so selfish? We all looked for a phone and you just sat there and didn't even tell us you had one?" The red-head exclaimed, placing her hands on Sun-hee's chest pushing her.
"Well maybe if you had listened to me, you would have known I had my phone" Sun-hee replied in a harsh tone. Turning on her phone as she entered the passcode, handing Cheong-san the phone. Ignore all the looks she got from her classmates in the room.
The phone rang and almost immediately a man answered through the other line. "Hello? This is Hyosan High School. A ton of zombies showed up at lunch and they're eating people" Cheong-san spoke into the phone, every one listening to him attentively.
Sun-hee slapped her hand against her forehead. Zombie's? Really? Who would believe zombies?
"Don't say zombie's" whispered On-jo to her friend.
"Then what?" he asked
"They won't believe you"
"D-did you happen to see the movie Train to Busan?" fucking idiot. How is this boy still in school?
"Put it on speaker" Sun-hee said, Cheong-san pressed a button on the phone so everyone could now hear what the man on the other line was saying
"Ok, Hyosan High, Zombies. Please give me your name and phone number. You know you can get in trouble for making these false calls?"
"It's true! This isn't a joke. Everyone's... Anyway come quick" Exclaimed the boy.
"Ok, Lee Cheong-san. Your number is 010-4362. Get somewhere safe so that you don't get bitten. Ok? We'll be there soon to check, ok?"
A few minutes had passed since Cheong-san made the call. Sun-hee tried calling her parents and sibling but to her dismay, no one answered. The small classroom they were in was completely silent. No one talked.
A shout got everyone's attention, the zombies who were banging on the door had ran to the way they heard the scream.
"Whoa, what's going on?"
"Where are they going? Are they leaving?"
Gyeong-su pulled the door open, looking at to where the zombie's were going.
"Close it idiot, do you want to die?" whisper-yelled Sun-hee to the boy. "Ok, gosh. You're so aggressive" he replied.
She put up her hand, curled into a fist, silently threatening him. She saw On-jo approaching Cheong-san, who had taken Sun-hee's phone attempting to call his own parents.
"And the police?" the girl asked. "He said they'll come"
"Did they believe you? What if they think it's a prank and decide not to come?" asked Gyeong-su. Everyone looked at each other. That was possible, I mean zombies are supposed to be fictional. Na-yeon then stood up, slightly shaking.
"Then call them again. And tell them to hurry up!" she exclaimed. "Shh, stop yelling. What if those zombies come back?" Ji-min said, hitting Na-yeon on the arm.
"Give me that" On-jo took the phone dialing a number on it. When some one answered the phone Sun-hee heard On-jo say "Hello, sir. Do you know Captain Nam So-ju from rescue team one?"
Fire department? What is the fire department gonna do in this situation? The girl was silent on their end, listening to the words the person on the phone said.
"Nam So-ju is my father. Could you please tell him to come to my school?" again she was silent, suddenly she shouted. "There's a fire! Hyosan High School, classroom 2-5. Hurry up. The fire is massive"
Ending the call, On-jo handed the phone back to Sun-hee. "You do know we could get arrested for making false calls to the fire department and the hotline system?" Sun-hee informed to her friend.
"Sun-hee ah, were in the middle of an apocalypse, who cares if we make false calls?" Gyeong-su replied.
"I'll hit you, shut up" she snarled through gritted teeth. "Yah, go ahead hit me then" Gyeong-su challenged not expecting the girl to actually hit him.
His eyes widened when she reached down to her knee high socks, pulling out a pocket knife from it. "Yah! Why the fuck do you have a knife in your sock?!" he shouted. She shrugged "I always walk home alone" before twisting it in her had, the blade shooting out, as she pointed it at him. Gyeong-su and Su-hyeok, who was beside him, flinched back. She closed the knife putting it back in her sock.
