I open my eyes and see someone peering over me. I recognize him slightly, but my memory is foggy (and so is my eyesight). After blinking a few times, my vision is back to normal, and I can tell the man knows me, and that I should know him. I do, I do know him, but I can't place his face. A familiar voice shouts from behind me, "Joly, how's he doing?" "Just woke up, little out of it, nothing I wouldn't expect," Joly shouts back. They're talking about me. I was dead, and now I'm somehow not. I'm not sure I understand it, but I'll very well accept that I'm still alive.

I sit up and survey the room. I make a mental checklist and start checking people off, "Bahorel, Combeferre, Courfeyrac, Enjolras, Feuilly, Grantaire, Jean  Prouvaire, Joly, Lesgle, Eponine, and...no Marius." He's nowhere to be found. The only person that is nearly impossible to find (that I can actually find at all cough cough Pontmercy) is Grantaire. He's nearly burried himself in the corner of the wall. Couldn't tell you why, but he has. Plus, I could swear of the tricolor I have that he's crying. I'm not sure why; everyone else is cheering, but he hasn't taken his head away from the wall since before I woke up.

Now some of the boys and Eponine are coming over to do that weird half-hug, half-hand-shake thing with me.Still Grantaire hasn't gotten up from his spot. I can't take it any longer. I quickly hug Eponine and climb out of my bed. I tiptoe over to Grantaire and kneel down so he can't see me. Enjolras is about to question me, but I quickly put a finger to my lips and he starts talking to Courfeyrac like nothing weird is going on. I straighten my body just enough to reach Grantaire's ear. I smile, place my hands on his shoulders and whisper, "You need somebody quicker And I volunteer!" I can tell from his little jump that his heart skipped a beat. He takes a deep breath and shout, "Honestly, you guys? Honestly?" and the room falls silent.
