Naomi's P.O.V

When I woke up, I noticed that I was the only one in the room. No Trey, no Aiyanna, nobody, just me. Stretching, I replayed the current events in my mind. Coming to a certain realization of what I was supposed to do today, I jumped out of bed, showered, and without anybody noticing, I rushed out of the front doors of the home. I ran towards the park, knowing that I could meet Trey there. I ran down the street, past Mrs. Till's house, and into the gates of the park. I ran around the entire park, searching for Trey. Maybe, he's not here.... maybe he's still in 'Hell' watching me... I looked one last time and on my way back to the gates of the park, I decided to take a break and rest on the swings for a while.

When I sat on the swing, I realized that I couldn't push myself. Curse my shortness . Sighing, I decided to just sit on the swings and wait. I looked around at all the flowers, particularly the red ones. Something feels...off. It feels as if someone is staring at me. I turned around and noticed someone was staring at me. I stared into the eyes of the little boy. I smiled and he blushed. I hopped off the swing and made my way towards him. Sitting in the sand in front of him, I decided to start a conversation.

"Hi. What's your name? Mines Naomi."

"My names... uh Tristan," the boy said while looking at the sand.

"Tristan," I said smiling to myself, "I've always liked the name. I have a teddy bear at the home with the name."

"The home," he said confusion in his voice.

"Oh...yeah..." At last he looked up at me. Tilting his head his lip curled downward in a frown.

"Are you an orphan," He asked, not at all trying to sound accusing or even the slightest bit rude. He sounded as if he truly wanted to know, that he truly wanted to get a better understanding of what I meant by 'I lived in a home'.

"Yeah...I am."

"That's cool," he said with a smile.

*~*

Tristan and I played in the sand for what seemed like forever. He was telling me about his family when I felt a hand on my shoulder. Looking up I saw Trey and instantly smiled.

"Naomi, who's that," asked Tristan, sounding a bit defensive.

"It's my friend Trey. Don't worry Tris he's cool." Tristan nodded his head, then went back to playing. I smiled to myself. I like this guy. We literally just met and he's already looking out for me.

"Come on, Naomi. We should get going." I looked at Tristan noticing he was clinching his jaw. I put my hand on top of his, when he looked up at me I smiled.

"If you want, you can come with us." He looked at our touching hands and instantly blushed.

"O-okay. I um gotta ask my mommy."

"Okay. Hurry back," I said with a smile. When he ran off I looked up a Trey and he stared at me his eyes changing from green to blue then back to green.
"Is somebody jealous," I said with a smirk.
"Pfft. No. Why would I be?" I glared at him realizing he's clearly lying, but I didn't want to press the issue.
When Tristan came back, he seemed overly excited.
"She said I could go with you guys!"
"Great," I said with a smile.
