Friday 1st of September 1972

The King Cross Station was packed with people. The first official day after the summer, 1st of September. Muggles heading towards their jobs and wizards walking towards the platform 9 ¾ to say their farewells to their children, the young Hogwarts students.

In the midst of it all walks a little family consisting of a mother, a father, a little boy and his one year younger sister.

The light brown haired girl walked next to her brother with a wide smile and nervous eyes. She tried to take it all in. But it was so much. She was stunned by all the people, whom were in their own little world, some not even aware of the world around them.

As she walked on the steps taking the family towards their destination, the nerves started to kick in and she grabbed her older brothers hand.

"Are you nervous?" Her older brother let his eyes scan his little sisters face. The nervous smile she gave him told him enough. "Don't be. You are going to love Hogwarts and my friends. I promise."

His little sister looked back at him with surprised eyes. As they locked eyes she calmed down a little. Her brothers caramel brown eyes always gave her the comfort she couldn't find in anyone else. She should have known better, her brother knew her better than she knew herself. It had always been that way. He only had to look at her to know what she was feeling. Thy had a strong bond created by the unfortunate events in their lives.

"I am sure I am going to love Hogwarts. And from all the stories I have heard over the summer, I am sure I will like your friends too..." the girl said while looking away from her brother to, again, scan the people surrounding them.

"Then why do you have that nervous look in your eyes Lou?"

The twelve year old looked at her as his shy sister tilted her head towards her feet and started fiddling with her bracelet. The one her brother had given her when she turned seven years old. It was a solid silver bracelet with a rose in the middle. The rose was connected to leaves which spread out towards the ends of the bracelet. She never took it off.

"Because I am not sure if they will like me." The eleven year old looked up towards her brother with a rare look on her face. She almost always had a smile on her face which left Remus in awe. Luna may be a little stubborn and angry sometimes, but no more than him. Above all she was remarkably kind and smart. She did not believe in an eye for an eye.

"Lou they will love you. They all look forwards to meeting you." The tall boy looked at his sister and still saw the uncertain and nervous look in her eyes. "But you can always come to me if you need to escape for a while. If it's too much, just tell me, okay?"

"Okay I will," she said. With the assurance of her brother, the nerves started to fade and all there was left was excitement. She stopped fiddling with her bracelet and locked arms with her brother. She started walking faster with a skip in her step. "Don't you think all these people are fascinating?"

"Who muggles? You've lived around and with muggles your entire life," the boy said with a baffling look on his face.

"No, just people in general. They are all in their own little world and some aren't even aware of what's happening around them. No wonder muggles haven't found out about wizards."

The girl keeps looking around until her eyes fell on a boy. He was not that tall and probably around her age. He had amber brown hair which was long enough to fall over his forehead. He walked with his chin up and a determent look on his face, as if he was better than everyone else. When she looked closer she could see that his shoulders were slightly slumped and his eyes fell every couple of seconds.
