Night Walker

Orphanage

March 5th, 5:30 am

I wake up to the sound of footsteps near me, I scrabble up onto my feet and turn around to see not one but two sets of feet, I check my phone and see that its 5:30 in the fucking morning the sun is still set, I garbed my backpack and the duffel bag that I was using as pillow, and then turned on my phone where I put the directions that the man from yesterday gave me. I read the first few lines of it and put my phone back into my pocket. First things first, I have to get off this roof without the other two people that are here knowing I am, I looked to the side and saw the two people, looked like two older men, I tipped toed to opposite of them and made my way to alley way I was in yesterday when I heard someone walking faster, I knew they had seen me, I jumped down the later using the metal to slide down as I jumped to the first platform down to the next one till my feet hit the grown, then went running, Lucky me I had my hood on and the people on the roof didn't see my face.

I made my way from the street I was on down the road, I made a couple turn till I saw this sign that said "Coffee Bean Cafe" I made my way into the Cafe, I just wanted to order a coffee for my walk to the orphanage, I sighed as I waited in line behind this giant man who couldn't figure out what he wanted for the life of him, I kicked my feet on the ground making shuffling sounds because i couldn't keep still. I looked at my phone, had to wait to use it, needed it for direction, and cuz I slept on top of a roof my first night in Gotham city, nowhere to charge it, so as my phone sat at 25 % I would have to find something else to entertain me on my walk, finally the man in front of me order his food and a coffee, I walked up to the counter and asked the server for a half decaf coffee with almond milk iced and sweetened, she said yes and that my order would be called when it was done. 

I grabbed my coffee and made my way out of the shop and onto the sidewalk, I sipped my coffee for a while before passing a school that looked like and old church, I think it was called Gotham Academy, I think that's the school I will be going to, I take a quick look at it and my jaw drops to the ground when I see who is in front of me, the two boys I told that the person they were looking for was not there when he really was. I turned on my heels and ran, hoping that the boys didn't go to the school, if they did I would ignore it. I made my way up the gates of the run down orphanage I would be staying in, and opened the gates, made my way up the courtyard and into the building coming face to face with the sweetest looking women ever, she reminded me of Molly from the harry potter books to be honest.

I waved at the woman and she smiled at me and said " You must be the new girl I'm getting, Fern Wild." I gave a small nod of my head and said " Yes Ma'am that's me", she looked at me and motioned for me to follow her, we walked through the orphanage, really i'm surprised with how nice it looks on the inside because it looks like it's falling apart on the outside. " Fern honey, I'm Miss Walter, I'm the head of the home" I looked at her with a small smile and said in a soft voice " Nice to meet you Miss Walter'' she looked at me then motioned for me to go into a room, the door was a light blonde color very sandy like, gives beach vibes, "this will be your room while you stay with me" Miss Walter said as she pushed me gently to get me to see the room, "Miss Walter, thank you for showing me to my room" I said as I took the door knob into my hand, I opened the door and what stood in front of me was a surprise, the room had a light peach color wall on the right to me, the the other 3 walls was a dark gray, in the middle of the room was a full size bed with blankets and pillows, there was a couple boxes and totes from my old room that I had left in Blake's truck, meaning he was already here, I sighed and looked at the women behind be " Thank you so much for the room Miss Walter, I promise to help around as much as I can'' I bowed my head a little to show respect for the women in front of me. 

"It's no issue dear, Just get some rest for the rest of the day, I know you had a long night out there by yourself, Your social work said you jumped out of his truck from something he said" Miss Walter left after saying that, I put my shoes by the door of the room, leaving the door cracked as I put my things away and plugged my phone in, By the time I was done putting my clothing in the closest provided to me and putting all my squish-mellows on my bed, and getting dressed in new clothing, and plugging my phone in, I decided to take a nap with my music playing in my ears. 

By the time I woke up it was around 3:30 in the afternoon, I heard Miss Walter talking to the other kids, telling them it was time to get ready for people to come to the orphanage, I wouldn't be ready for adoption for another week or so, Miss Walter made light taps on my door, I got up and opened the door more for her to see me, "Yes, Miss Walter?" I said. "Just came to check up on you dear, I was also wondering if you could help me with the younger kids, I have a toddler that just came in, and I need to make dinner" Miss Walter rushed out, Looking down at the small toddler in her arms, I reached out and the small child reached for me to take him. " I can watch over him and help make dinner if you need it, Just let me get dressed" I shut the door still holding the toddler in my arms, I switch so he is on my left side, I grab some clothing and look down at the boy and place him on my rug with his blanket and toy he had, I kept a close eye as he played why I got dressed, when I picked him up the second time he winded and buried his head into my neck, I just smiled down at him putting my hand in his hair, and on his back I smoothed him to sleep as I made my way to the kitchen, where Miss. Walter was. 

After helping with dinner, I found out that the toddler was staying in the room next to mine, and that's where my bathroom door was connect to, each bathroom had two rooms connected to them, I was okay with that, after all he was just a baby, I sighed and went to my bag, grabbed my laptop time to post on my blog

Hello Everyone,

You would not believe how my day has gone, well first off I helped a stranger by telling people he went the other way when he was under where I was standing the whole time, then I slept on a roof, then ran from stranger that were on the roof at 530 in the morning waking my ass up, then I got coffee from this cute Cafe called "Coffee Bean Cafe" you guys should try it out if you live in Gotham, but I'm at the orphanage now, and a little toddler has taken a liken to me, that's about it for the day. Its night time now, you know what that means,
