A/N: Please request Buddy Holly stories! Share this with friends if you can!

February 2nd, 1959

Waylon Jennings and Tommy Allsup were supposed to be on tour, but they couldn't make it. Denver and I are Buddy's backups in case one of the other band mates doesn't show up.

"Are you guys ready?" Buddy asks.
"Of course!" I said.

Ritchie and JP went first. Ritchie sang "Come On Let's Go" and "Donna". JP did "Chantilly Lace".

We were up next. We played "That'll be the Day", "Peggy Sue" , and "Oh, Boy!". I was on bass, and Denver was on guitar. Carl Bunch was still the drummer.

The crowd went wild when all of a sudden at what we thought was the end of the show, Ritchie came out of nowhere with the opening of "La Bamba". Apparently, he an JP had planned to surprise everyone with us all singing "La Bamba". Come to think of it, Ritchie hadn't sung "La Bamba" when he was on.

"Thank you, Clear Lake!" We shouted into the microphone before we headed out to our (now) heated bus.
