Chapter 4
Savana's POV
"Hurry up Ty!!!" I yelled back. "We are going to be late!"
We were running down the corridors trying to reach the Great Hall, before the first years. I didn't want to be there to early just standing there like a freak, waiting for them, but I also didn't want to be late and draw any attention to myself.
We got there and hid in a nook in the wall so that no one could see us.
"Here they come!" I whispered too Ty. I looked at him expecting a response but... He was blushing again?!
It might have been dark but I saw his red face easily. Huh why was he... then I noticed we had picked a really small nook, forcing us to be squished together (facing each other). To accommodate the tight fit I had my arms on his shoulders. Our faces were only inches apart!
I could feel my heart thumping and my face growing hot. To put and end to the awkward silence I slipped out of the nook and blended in perfectly with the other 1st years, I don't think anyone even noticed us entering the crowd.
I saw my cousin up at the front of the first years talking with a blond boy. I ran to them, it looked as if they were having an argument.
"Hi Harry!" I yelled before giving him a big hug from behind.
"Savana, good to see you! Where were you? You weren't the train."
"Severus wouldn’t let me go, he said I had to just wait here until you guys got here. Who is this?" I asked looking at the red and blond haired boys standing behind Harry. (They were both looking at me funny)
"Oh, this is Ron Weasley and Draco Malfoy I met them both today," Harry said but I noticed his facial expressions change as he said both of the boy's names. His face lit up as he told me Ron's name, but darkened as he said Draco's.
"Nice too meet you both, I'm Savana Snape." I said smiling and shaking both of their hands.
I heard a caugh from behind me and turned to see McGonagall watching us. I smiled and gave her a quick hug, she hugged me back and told the crowd to follow her.
We Followed Professor McGonagall into the Great hall. I was so nervous that I started shaking, I hate attention. Everyone turned their heads to watched us.
We walked to the front of the hall and stopped in front of the teacher's table. There was a stool and an old hat waiting for us. I've watched these sorting ceremonies ever since I was brought to this castle, so I knew what to expect.
After the hat sang Professor McGonagall started calling out names. I watched while Tyler was put in Slytherin with that Draco boy. That was perfect, Tyler definitely was clever. I watched as Harry was sorted into Gryffindor, and then finally it was my turn.
"Savana Snape!" Professor M said, I walked up tentatively. Before taking my seat I glanced up to look at me uncle. He looked at me coldly with his usual glare, I watched as he curtly nodded.
I sat down facing the rest of the students, while the hat was placed on my head.
"Interesting, very interesting!" said a eerie voice inside my head.
"You are Brave, and very intelligent, but then again... You could do amazing things in any house. But what to do, what to do?"
"If that is true, sir, may I choose my house. I mean if you are right and I fit anywhere my choice should help with the decision? If it is alright with you, of course?" I said in my mind to the hat.
"My, you are a polite one. I suppose you may, you make an interesting argument."
"Alright then, I want to be in Gryffindor with my cousin... Please?"
"I did enjoy this little chat Savana. If you have any free time perhaps you can visit and we can speak further of your... Family."
Before I could ask what the hat meant I heard a yell, "GRYFFINDOR!"
I got up and went to sit by Harry and Ron. As I sat down a looked toward Severus, but he wouldn't look at me. Then I tried to see Tyler, but... He was too busy talking to his new friends.
"I guess I'm old news," I said quietly to myself. I am scared that because of our separation Tyler and I would, in time grow apart and forget about each other.
Harry heard this and put his arm around my shoulders and smiled at me and said, "Don't worry Sav you will make more friends and I'm sure Ty will too, but I know for a fact that you two will always remain the best of friends."
I hugged him tightly telling him thank you.
I haven't known Harry long, but I know that no matter what happened Harry would always be there for me.
I love my brother!
Wait why did I think that?
Hmm.. It was true, he did feel like a brother more than he felt like a cousin. This is going to be a great year... Right?
