"So when is the wedding?"
Tangan ni Hanz ang isang bote ng beer sabay naupo sa sofa.
It's been a while since the 6 Elite Men gathered together for a little chat.
"Wedding? We're not getting there yet." Enzo was busy taking out his iconic chessboard.
It's also been a while since the last time he played chess because now he has no reason to do so.
"You mean...you haven't proposed yet?" Drew was casually sitting beside Hanz
"No! I told you, we're taking it slow. Why are you even rushing me, may pupuntahan ba kayo?"
"Wala naman. It's just that usually, a wedding takes place after all the fuss." Si King na hindi mapigilang mapangiti at the thought of it.
"Yup. Been there, done that." Si Z na magbubukas pa lang ng isang malaking balot ng chichiria.
"And we'll get there, for sure...but in a few years. We just want to enjoy the dating phase at the moment." Enzo said with finality.
"Sure, that's cool."
That was Ken who was awfully quiet the whole time.
No, he was never quiet at times like this. But today he was.
"Then I'll have my wedding first." walang anu-anong anunsyo niya.
The five men were unbothered by what he said. They thought Ken was just telling a joke.
"Yeah. Sure." Si King
"Make sure you have a bride first." Si Z
"I do. We'll get married in six months."
The five men looked at him like he was about to jump off a cliff.
"Wait, you're kidding right?" It was Hanz who failed to hide his confusion.
"No."
"Oh come on, Ken! That's a nice prank." Si Enzo
"It's not. As a matter of fact, here's an invitation. It's not finalized yet but that's a sample."
Ken pulled out something from his inside pocket and handed it over. They all gathered around for a small envelope.
Mabilis pa sa alas-kwatro na binuksan ng lima ang envelope. Their heads bumping each other at hindi magkandaugaga sa pagbasa sa nilalaman ng hawak nilang imbitasyon.
There was silence.
Ken was waiting as if it was nothing.
Then the five men turned to look at him.
"WHO THE FUCK IS AIKO?!"
