The next time Kuroi wakes up, the classroom is mostly empty.
"Kintsukuroi it's recess." Iruka-sensei whispers gently shaking their shoulder. They yawn, their mouth full of sharp teeth be on display.
Kuroi rubs their eyes while Iruka-sensei softly smiles while fixing their hair. "Did you hear your team?" He asks, satisfied with his work.
They hum in response before standing up. " I better get lunch then." Their head comes up to his chin as they pass him by on the way to the door.
"Happy Birthday Kintsukuroi." Iruka-sensei says making they stop.
Kuroi looks up at him over their shoulder, "Thanks Iruka-sensei." They turn back and leave.
As they find themselves outside sunlight caresses their face, making warmth spread across the surface.
After a minute, Kuroi leaves the campus and decided to stop by their apartment for their wallet.
Halfway there a person runs full speed towards them. Kuroi quickly sidesteps the attack and grab their wrist with one hand while slowing down the two's momentum by holding onto the person's waist, catching them in a dip.
After a moment, Kuroi pulls them back up and the person looks down at them with shiny black eyes and a determined grin.
"Kintsukuroi, my rising sun and setting moon." He starts, grabbing their hand from his wrist and holding it in between his palms.
He pushes their bodies closer together making Kuroi hold his waist tighter as his chest pressed against theirs.
"Will you marry me?" He shouts with a blush burning his cheeks as his hopeful eyes stare into theirs.
Kuroi's eyes soften, "Lee, we both know that we are too young for that." They respond brushing his hair back as he deflates at the words.
"Besides, aren't you skipping some steps?" They continue with a chuckle, making him pop up.
"But by marrying you now, it ensures that in the future we could have beautiful children together and spend our days embracing our youth." Lee says making Kuroi's eyes subtly light up which he catches.
"A house full of loved ones...that sounds nice." They mutter and Lee grins.
"Lee! Stop tempting Kintsukuroi, we were barely able to stop the wedding last time." Tenten interrupts, finally catching up as Neji pulls Kuroi away.
"You know the rule Kuroi, no marriage before you are a Chūnin. No matter how tempting it may be." Neji reminds them, smoothly taking their hand in his own.
"We have a mission so we will be gone for a few days so tell us all about your new team when we get back okay!" Tenten says pulling Lee away.
"Happy Birthday Kintsukuroi! I'll bring you something back!" Lee shouts.
"Happy Birthday!" Tenten adds.
Neji places something in Kuroi's free hand and whispers, "Happy Birthday Kintsukuroi."
He let's go of their hands and catches up with his team with a slight blush.
Kuroi opened their hand and sees a carved wooden bird.
They smile and rub their fingers over the shape as they walk the rest of the way home.
As Kuroi steps to their door, a tense feeling creeps over them.
'Someone is inside.'
They slip the bird in their jacket pocket and pulls out two Kunai.
They quickly flick their tounge out and retract it, know knowing exactly where the two people inside are.
Kuroi makes a clone of themself and sends it back the they came to set up a distraction.
They walk around back to a window and spot the broken barrier tag.
They quietly slip through as the intruders spot the clone 'about to open the door'.
Kuroi throws the two Kunai and they catch on their clothes.
"What are you doing in my house?" Kuroi demands as they turns on the lights.
To their surprise, they see the Hokage and a young gray haired masked ninja staring at them.
...
..
"That's an inappropriate thing to do in another person's house, even if you are the Hokage." Kuroi says bluntly and the Hokage shouts, "THAT'S NOT WHAT'S HAPPENING HERE!"
"How do you even know about that?" He sighs and Kuroi shrugs.
"Loud neighbors." They gently place the bird on their night stand before removing the kunai.
"Your place is pretty empty." The gray haired ninja says making Kuroi turn to him with an arched brow.
"With all due respect, Get out of my house. I like my privacy and I don't want someone I don't know commenting on it." They say opening the door as the clone outside poofs.
"Or entering without permission." They add looking at the Hokage.
The Hokage chuckles as he walks outside.
Kuroi turns to the man who is staring at them before asking, "What?"
"Nothing, you just remind me of someone." He says earning a blank look.
"Well reminisce out of my house, I'm on a time limit." Kuroi says, pointedly tilting his head towards the open door.
The man chuckles before walking out and the door closes behind him.
Kuroi grabs the air freshener and sprays the room, ridding the room of their smell.
On the other side of the door Kakashi chuckles, putting his hands in his pockets. "So that's his kid huh."
"Not what you expected hm." The Hokage smiles, leading them away from the large apartment. "You're the only one who can guide them now. Take care of them for me."
