Sky Tate's twin

Chapter 2

Rangers: Red: Fire, Blue: Water, Gold: Light, Green: Forest, Yellow: Earth, Pink: Air.

      I am 16 years old with blonde hair , blue eyes, and a symbol on my face that represents my connection to my family. It's not like a tattoo it's just a small v shaped symbol. Zuko and I both have it because we are siblings and because we are both Kryptonese. My eyes will become a brighter blue when I get my full powers when I turn 17. I am sooo ready for that day to come. As of right now I do have one power and that's the ability to make offensive and defensive force fields. Zuko also has that power I sometimes feel that my brother is always one step ahead of me, but I am a year younger than him. I will get my elemental power when I turn 17. Zuko is the only one on our team that has his elemental powers. Not only does Zuko have his powers but he has the signature Kryptonian beauty, strength, speed, and agility. It must be really cool to be able to control one of the elements of nature and to be fast, beautiful, and strong. My element will be water when I finally get it.

        Our day at KPD started with the usual patrol of the boarders of our domed city of Krypton. There was nothing really wrong just the usual, a few kids checking out the dome set off the alarm. Then we had a shoplifter who we had to go stop. No attacks from Emperor Gruumm today.

       When we got back to the base we knew something was off commander Declaw was in the command center staring at a computer screen. Dash was running around the room going from computer to computer muttering something about SPD. Dash is our assistant. He isn't allowed to be a ranger for medical reasons, but he is an awesome assistant he is really good with computers as we are definitely seeing right now. "What's wrong commander" Zuko said. "Cadets we have a problem, SPD has just sent us an emergency signal saying Gruumm has attacked the SPD base and they are losing, they need our help" Commander DeClaw responded. "Tate I want you to go" he continued. I don't think it's fair that Zuko got to drop the cadet title, but I guess that's something that will come after I turn 17." Sir can I please go with him" I said before the commander could leave the room. "Cadet Tate I really think you should stay here" the commander replied. "Sir please I want to go with my brother we might have to use our family symbol and he can't use it if i'm not there" I begged "Fine but don't get yourself killed cadet" he finally agreed.
        " Zuko, Cadet Tate this mission will probably be dangerous, but I believe the two of you can complete it. Gruumm doesn't know about Krypton meaning you will have an advantage in this situation, but Gruumm may not be your only threat. Commander Cruger believes that all Kryptonese people are threats to him so his rangers may be a problem don't underestimate him" the commander told us. My guess is that Commander DeClaw and the commander of SPD have a bad history. I think it has something to do with a girl but I could be way off.

       Zuko and I left the base and arrived in Newtech city at 2:30 AM. We could have used the teleporters but since it is SPD Zuko thought it would be considered a threat to just appear, but we still got there in good time considering we left at 1:00. I know it's really early but the commander thought it would be best if we waited. We arrived de-morphed because we didn't want to look threatening . I know it sounds like we are trying to hard to look nonthreatening, but we have a good reason. When we were really young we lived in Newtech city with our parents. Our mother was a Kryptonian and a very powerful one. Our father was human and a officer at SPD this was before KPD was a thing because at the time all Kryptonians lived in or around the city. Everything was good until Cruger rose up to power. He created a law stating that all Kryptonians have to go to their own city while all the humans can go anywhere on earth. Any Kryptonian caught outside of Krypton was immediately arrested by SPD. Our parents got a divorce and my brother and I went with our mother to Krypton while our father stayed in Newtech city. A few years later we found out that our father was sent on a mission and never returned he went KIA (killed in action). Then not long after Zuko's 15th birthday our mother got really sick she died soon after. So we were on our own. We have lived at the KPD base ever since. Zuko has the highest ranking possible at KPD. The only one higher than him is commander Declaw and the only reason that is the case is that Commander DeClaw is in his late 30s he has had more experience than Zuko. So the reason we are trying not to look threatening is because we don't want Cruger to overreact. We went to the SPD base and it was surprisingly quiet. KPD is going round the clock. It was kind of weird. We went through security but as soon as we walked into the main building Zuko turned to me and said "something doesn't feel right" before I could respond I felt a presence behind me and suddenly I was on the ground. I felt handcuffs being put on my wrists. I twisted around to get out of the grasp of the person trying to cuff me. But he was too strong. I looked around and saw a dark skinned guy in a red uniform with an SPD badge trying to get handcuffs on my fighting brother.  The other guy finally got the cuffs on me. I had my face down. I heard the guy in red say  "Sky can you come help me with this one he is too powerful" The guy that cuffed me who has on a blue SPD uniform  walked over and wrestled my brother to the ground and put kryptonite laced handcuffs on his wrists then lifted him to his feet. Another guy came into the room this one also had an SPD badge but he was in green. He was carrying a small box that I knew because I could feel it had kryptonite in it. My vision started to blur and I began to feel really light headed, nauseous, and weak. Zuko fell to his knees the blacked out because of the kryptonite exposure. That's when the guy in blue turned around and I could see the instant shock on his face, he and I looked almost exactly the same. Not only did we have the exact same shade of hair and eye color, but our facial features looked a lot alike. He looked as shocked as I felt. I had so many questions. Who was this guy? Why did he look like me? Why are they hurting us? I didn't have time to ask all of my questions, because at that moment I blacked out.
