"Ronnie!"

I turned my head to the call of my name. A young girl with blonde hair flowing in the wind approached me.

"Are you ready to go?" she said as she reached for my hand.

I reached up, grasping her hand in mine.

Suddenly, the waves behind her turned dark and the sky looked black.

We were in a room now, and the smile that once graced her features was now replaced with fear.

"Ronnie, we have to get out of here!" she pulled me to my feet and started to run.

"He'll be back any minute!" we reached the door, but as she went to reach for it, it was whipped open.

"You stupid brats!"

The girl screamed and pushed me back as the man reached for her.

"Run!" she yelled as the man reached for me as well.

I tried to call out to her, but no sound came. The girl kicked the man to keep his attention on her and called out to me again.

"Run now Ronnie! Go!"

So, I bolted. Running past them and through the rusting door.

I reached the end of the hallway and turned to see if she followed, but all I was met with was a scream.

"You should have saved yourself Li-"

I gasped for air, springing up from my sleep.

Panic was all I felt as my eyes frantically searched my room for any danger. Deeming it safe I finally glanced at my clock to see the time.

3:14 AM

As my heart finally slows, I lay back down and stare up at the ceiling. It's always the same dream, that same blonde little girl looking at me with nothing but fear in her eyes.

This is the third time this week I've been awoken like this . I'm gonna have to get a refill on those sleeping pills at this rate. I look to the foot of my bed as a quiet meow resounds around the room.

"Aw did you come to check up on me?" I muse as I pick up my cat, he rubbed his head against mine.

I found him in an alley way about a year ago, orange coat muddy and infested with fleas. I brought him home and cleaned him up, now we're practically inseparable.

I let him free from my grasp as he sauntered back to the end of my bed. I looked out the window, the sky dark and cloudy. You could catch a glimpse of the moon here and there.

After watching the night sky, I've come to the conclusion that I'm not gonna be able to go back to sleep. I leave the comfort of my bed and try not to trip over the mound of clothing on my floor. Unfortunately, for me I don't have the best sight in the dark and end up catching my foot on what was probably a shirt.

"Ah! Fffff-" I bite my lip keeping myself from cursing. I crash to the floor with a loud thud, thoroughly scaring my roommates as I hear their doors slam open and watch as mine is whipped open.

"Ronnie! where are you, are you okay!?" My roommate yelled as she came into my room swinging a bat. Our other roommate coming up behind her with a broom

"I'm fine! Just tripped." They glanced down to the floor, lowering their 'weapons' when they saw me.

"Geez thanks for the scare Ron." They finally turned the lights on, glancing around my room .

"Sorry about that, It's nice to know you guys would come to my rescue though.  Mind helping me up Alex?" She reached down, helping me to my feet.

"Of course we'd come save you, I don't want to have to deal with that paper work." My other roommate said finally entering my room.

"Wow, really feeling the love there cor" I walked past them into the hallway.
