Emma was a very happy but also sad baby. There had been so many older siblings she had never knew of, so many who were shipped out before she was old enough to remember the first time but this time she did remember.
Emma had started talking and walking faster than any of the other children her age. Something which surprised most of the older kids and Mama but Mama was proud of her and gave her kisses and hugs when she did good.
When she was two Emma was running around everywhere, building up her speed and stamina and trying her best to get her motor controls under complete control. She had to train. She had these memories for a reason. She knew what was coming up in the future so she had to start training as soon as possible.
The days often ended with Emma falling asleep curled up against Norman and Ray who were her two best friends...or curled up against Mama.
Soon though Emma noticed something strange. She had always been more physically fit than other kids her age, especially Norman who was more frail...Norman hadn't been able to pick Emma up at all even after they had grown a bit. Ray on the other hand had been able to easily carry Norman or Emma either one at any given time.
Emma though had always been able to pick up both of the boys with ease. She had always been stronger and faster than them and they all three had known it. When it had come to pure physical ability the only ones able to keep up with or surpass Emma were the adults like Yuugo or the Lamba escapee's like Zazie and Barbara.
Even with already knowing that she was much more physically fit than the other kids her age...Emma was surprised to find that this time she was faster than even the six year olds when she was only two. Usually the only ones who could catch her were those over the age of 10, and even then it was just barely, or Mama.
It was strange how she was suddenly so much faster than she had been even when she was six or seven last time. Maybe it was because she had started training earlier? But that didn't make sense.
After all Emma had noticed how she seemed to tire much slower than even the ten year olds. Mama said she had a bottomless well of energy and even though it wasn't quite right, she often got tired and fell asleep on her friends after all, it was certainly pretty close. She could run for over an hour non-stop and just barely get tired as a two year old. Noticing all of the other two year olds barely able to run for two minutes without falling or getting tired...she knew that it wasn't normal.
Not just that either. She was also stronger. A lot stronger than the other two year olds...and even the four year olds. The two year olds often struggled with picking up the toys they played with, Emma had no issues at all picking up a lot of them at once. The four year olds could barely get the books off of the bottom shelf of the library and carry it to the table, even just the picture books.
Emma had no problems carrying the adventure novel that had helped them so much when they escaped and toting it outside to ask Mama to read it to her...and it was a lot bigger than the picture books.
The look on Mama and the other kids faces had been kind of funny.
Emma knew she could read the book on her own if she wanted to, heck she had read it so much last time that she could recite probably most of it if she wanted too...but not only did she not want Mama to get suspicious of how smart Emma was...she also really liked hearing Mama softly reading the book to her and the other children who often came and sat under the tree to listen to Mama read.
