Lisa was well aware that the old lady pulled this trick each time she wanted to hide her emotions.
Lisa leisurely tugged on the partially dried hair hanging over her shoulder and played with it.
She said in a casual manner, “You’re getting pretty good, aren’t you? You even dare to run back home on your own without telling me.”
The old lady was startled when she heard Lisa and replied sheepishly. “I didn’t come back alone. Little Mr. Jeon got someone to send me home.”
Lisa sneered and said, “How long have you known him for? If he was a con man, what would happen to you?”
The old lady felt guilty but suppressed the sour feeling in her mouth as she replied softly. “I know Jungkook is a good guy.”
“Don’t ever write a letter and run off again. Just tell me where you want to go. It’s not like I’d stop you, alright?”
Lisa narrowed her eyes a little and said in an unusually solemn voice, “With me around, no one can force you to live where you don’t like.”
Lisa knew that He Seohyung had wanted her grandmother to move to the city, but she refused her again and again. Her grandmother would never have compromised if Lisa did not move back to the Huo family.
The old lady had to live in the city unhappily because of Lisa’s selfishness.
Lisa wanted to take care of this old lady because of her close proximity with the host.
The old lady choked with emotions and agreed. “If Seohyung puts you in a spot again, don’t worry about me. Do whatever you want. Don’t suffer in silence.”
Lisa said calmly, “That’s why I keep saying that you have a heart problem. It is because you overthink.”
The old lady was worried that she might feel even worse if they went on chatting, so she muttered softly. “Okay okay. It’s getting late. I want to sleep.”
Then she hung up without waiting for Lisa to say goodnight.
Lisa shook her head and laughed when she heard the beep on the phone. She put it down and continued blow-drying her hair.
Before long, someone knocked at her door.
Lisa straightened her hair before opening it.
“Brother Namjoon?”
Namjoon stood there with his hands behind him. He looked even more refined without his rimless glasses.
He pursed his lips into a smile and said, “You probably haven’t had dinner, right?”
Lisa was rather surprised and said yes.
Namjoon turned sideways and raised his chin to glance at the stairs and said, “Come, I’ll cook something for you.”
He paused for two seconds and added. “Brother Jin is gone, so don’t worry about things being awkward.”
Lisa agreed right away. “Then thanks, Brother Namjoon.”
Very quickly, the two of them went downstairs. It was almost 10:00 pm, so Song Chaerin and Huo Jiyong had already gone back to their room.
Namjoon rolled up his sleeves and opened the fridge to check the contents. Other than some eggs and a tomato, there were no other ingredients. He touched the tip of his nose and looked at Lisa.
He said, “We’re out of ingredients. Will stir-fried tomato and scrambled eggs noodles do?”
“It’s fine. I’m not picky.”
