Before Leaving for the gym I went into my closet to pick up my gear and change into something more appropriate. I went to my dresser and took out a matching set of sports bra and panties. Not the most flattering piece of undergarments, but I was going to the gym for a workout not to a fashion show. I always hated to go to the gym and see these bunnies, young and old, wear the latest sportswear and be full make-up and jewelry. They would mostly flirt and show off instead of working out.
Before I could begin to get dressed my phone rang and declined it when I saw William's name come up. Now I most definitely needed to let out some steam. The less emotional way, the less fun way, and unquestionably not the less satisfying way. I walked out my room and headed to the lift. My cell phone rang yet again and like all the other times it was declined.
During the ride towards the gym I thought about my relationship with William. The loss of my life as I knew it and my way of diving into my job. Dedicating every single moment to my career and my patients. I no longer had a personal life so it was my job that became my life. My thoughts were cut short when I arrived at the Gym. One thing that always got me even more psyched about my workout was the combined smell of determination and sweat lingering once you walk into the gym.
"Hey Doc, there you are. » One of my favorite sparing partners, looked at his watched and then said, « You are almost late. I almost called for a search party."
« Hello Tevin. » I said with a small laugh. « Had a rough night and had trouble getting out of bed, but I am ready for what ever you throw at me. »
Tevin and I walked towards the locker room so that I can put on my gear, but as I walk into the room I hit a hall and a familiar voice excused himself.
« Lachlan? » I said roaming my eyes over his tall-perfect-shaped body. I noticed a small tattoo on the left side of his chest. Though I am not a big fan of tattoos he wore it well. God this man was beautiful.
"You two know each other?" Tevin asked looking from me then towards Lachlan.
Lachlan smiled broadly to his brother and then said, "Samantha and I met last night... wait a minute... is this the Sam ye've told me about? The one that gave ye the shiner a few weeks ago?" He laughed seeing his brother confirm and looked at me. "Impressive... very impressive Dr. Thornsdale. Ye keep surprising me more and more every time we meet."
We quickly put on our protective gear. While I wore a tight fitting tank top and shorts, Lachlan and his brother wore just a pair of shorts. It was only then that I could actually see a very strong resemblance between the brothers, yet they all were so different.
Before we were to start a more intense workout with a sparring partner we all stood in rows and began a series of kicking, punching and defense positions. From jabs, to hooks, to uppercuts and even through may other different punching techniques. After 30 minutes of repeating punches and kicks we broke and began sparing with one an other. Normally I would spare with a woman, but on occasions like this one, when there were none I would spare with a man that would be in my category. As it's the case today I would most likely be paired with Tevin. Though tall he was thin and lean.
I wouldn't have minded sparing with Lachlan, but unfortunately we were not the same height and certainly not the same weight, so his brother was my partner.
"So you and my brother?" Tevin asked taking position opposite me.
"Was he the brother you wanted to set me up with?" Seeing his nod of confirmation, I continued with a wicked smile, "Well it is a small world isn't?" Jab, back fist, Roundhouse kick.
"I knew you two would get along. You are so his type. Strong, sure of herself, and witty." Bolo punch, axe kick. "He's a great guy you should give him a chance."
