"The job is done, master. ", John informed Giuseppe.
"That's better. We are having visitors, I need you to take at most care of their horses.", Giuseppe ordered the young stable boy.
" Of course, master. I'll do my best. ", John answered positively and left for his house.
" Mr.Salvatore, We finally meet. ", a voice from behind startled Giuseppe. He shot up from his chair as if he was electrocuted to face the owner of the voice. The man assumed, Giuseppe didn't recognize him and offered," klaus. Niklaus Mikaelson.", he declared.
"Mr.Mikaelson! How did you.... I didn't know you'd be here this early? ", Giuseppe gasped out.
" Why? Am I not welcome here?", Klaus shot back mockingly and Giuseppe was quick to apologize.
"I didn't mean it that way, Sir. You are always welcome here.", he told Klaus.
" I better be. ", Klaus replied menacingly while his brother walked in.
" My humble apologies, Mr. Salvatore. My brother is yet to learn diplomacy and discipline. ", Elijah proclaimed earning a frown from Klaus.
" As much as I like this conversation going, I need some sleep. Where's my room? ", Klaus asked unbothered.
" Mary! Show our guests their room. Make sure they feel comfortable. ", the oldest Salvatore ordered his maid to which she silently complied.
" Thank you. ", Elijah replied before following the maid.
When they were about to climb the stairs, they bumped into Stefan.
" The youngest Salvatore, I suppose. ", Klaus spoke up.
" Yes, Mr.mikaelson? ", Stefan asked.
" Please, Call me Klaus. ", Klaus replied and climbed up the stairs.
Stefan heard his steps treading the staircase more emphatically than ever. He detected in that stamping of feet a challenge and a sense of ownership. Stefan guessed that their relationship was going to be the coldest.

*Present-day*
Setting:Reserved forest area
" So are we going to walk forever?", Stefan whined.
"Of course not love. ", Klaus replied glibly and proceeded with his pace. After what felt like hours, Stefan stopped following Klaus. Klaus grunted expressing his annoyance.
" I'm serious, Where are we going ? ", Stefan interrogated rather rightfully. Even Stefan was surprised at his boldness when those words came out of his mouth. Klaus grinned smugly.
" We have to go, love. But as you insist, We are going to book a hotel and do some adult business there. You and me. ", Klaus let out half-jokingly. Stefan's mouth hung agape (mentally) at those words. Shocked will be an understatement. He just made a weird face at Klaus.
"If that was a joke, you suck at jokes Nik.", Stefan blurted out. Klaus flinched at the old nickname and Stefan quickly apologized.
" I'm sorry. I don't know why I called you that. ", he said.
Klaus simply nodded and started walking again. " He isn't starting to remember, is he? ", Klaus thought to himself. Stefan had managed to break his compulsion before after all. " Should I tell him myself, before he knows things the hard way? ", Klaus questioned himself.
The journey was too quiet for Klaus' liking after that little turmoil. Stefan was too embarrassed with himself to make a conversation and that was getting to Klaus' nerves. After some time, they hunted down a werewolf 'Ray' to get him to lead them to his pack.
" Are you okay? Is Ray getting heavy? ", Klaus asked putting a minimum effort to hide his concern.
" I'm fine.", Stefan answered." At least he's the same", klaus thought to himself.
"You sure about that? We've been walking for quite some time now. Do you need some water or a little sit-down? ", Klaus spoke.
Stefan smiled a little making Klaus do the same.
" You know, I get that we're stuck together, but if we could maybe skip the chit chat, it'd be great. ", Stefan said.
" So much brooding. Your self-loathing is suffocating you, my friend.", Klaus replied a bit annoyed.
"Maybe it's because I'm a little tired of hunting werewolves. We've been at it all summer. ", Stefan complained.
" Thanks to our pal, Ray, we've found ourselves a pack. There. ", Klaus asserted as he laid his eyes on the pack before him. Stefan followed Klaus. As Stefan dropped Ray to the ground a girl rushed to him and blabbered before inquiring who Stefan was.
" The important question is, who am I? ", told the girl. " Please, forgive the intrusion. My name is Klaus. ", He further announced.
" You're the hybrid. ", the girl asked carefully.
" You've heard of me. Fantastic.", Klaus mused.
Stefan and Klaus made themselves comfortable in a log nearby and continued terrorizing the pack, making hybrids and such. After successfully half-killing the pack Stefan and Klaus got into a little chit-chat.
"...Something you'll learn once you shake that depressive chip off your shoulder. ", Klaus commented making Stefan chuckle.
" That's why you're keeping me around? To witness my attitude adjustment? ", Stefan asked when Ray started coughing out blood.
" You'll know why I am keeping you around when I've decided that I want you to know. ", Klaus replied examining Ray. " Something's wrong.", Klaus asserted finally. Stefan went close to Ray and said the following.
"That shouldn't be happening, should it?"
"Well, obviously. ", Klaus told.
When klaus was distracted Ray made a dramatic escape. Stefan shocked himself turned to Klaus, like asking what to do.
" Get him.", Klaus ordered and Stefan complied. To Stefan's misfortune, Ray bit him and ran again.
"Great! ", Stefan thought sarcastically to himself before attempting to catch him again. But he retained himself when he heard some familiar voices. Damon, Elena, and Alaric. Stefan felt the urge to welcome a firing party when he heard Klaus come that way.
"Where did he go?", Klaus asked.
" Yeah, he got away. Come on let's go.", Stefan said and walked away rather annoyed. Klaus was too annoyed that he couldn't make any hybrids to notice the werewolf bite.
