It's been a whole day and I'm still trying to wrap my head around this mess.
I even pretended I was sick and skipped school.
"Okay I can handle this. I've dealt with bigger things." I tell my yellow lab who's at the end of my bed. I grab my phone and dial my coaches number.
"Sara, I'm a little busy, can I call you back later."
"No, because I, the team captain, just figured out from Hanna that the schools canceling our soccer program. I at least should have been the first one you told."
"I'm sorry but I really have to go, our last practice is tonight, we'll talk then." And with that I was left with the phone buzzing in my ear and my dog looking at me like I was insane.Soccer that night wasn't the same. I wasn't excited to go like I normally was. I didn't even want to see if Manchester United won their game. Hanna was blabbering on about how East Ren had amazing players and she was so going to transfer and play for them. TRAITOR!!
"Sara there you are," Coach grinned.
" You and Hanna's are traitors and I can't believe you would just let the staff vote what sport group an-"
"Stop, I didn't let the staff vote."
" Yes you did, Hanna told me."
"Because that's what I told her, I'm becoming the coach of the Colorado Rapids, job starts in 2 weeks."
" So you're just ditching us in our most important year that college scouts are looking at us?"
" I couldn't back down on this opportunity, I'm sorry."
" You know what, I quit soccer. Every time I see a soccer ball, it reminds me of the two important people in my life, becoming a traitor." After that I took off with a run. I turned behind me to see if anyone cared what I just said and guess what, they started to play again not even bothered by my run away.
