I put on my PJs as soon as I finished showering, It was a blue onesie with bear ears, I was drying my hair fast when I heard my doorbell ring.
I got out of my room into the hallway to reach the front door, I opened it and it was Val and Jane standing with plastic bags in their hand.
"you know plastic is unrecyclable and it kills turtles," I said standing in the doorway,
"fuck off, I'm hungry," Val said as she pushes through, followed by jane.
"What did you get something? I got us pizzas!" I said as I shut the front door.
Jane left the hallway the door leading to the kitchen, Val waited for me to enter first then she followed.

"with what money honey?" Jane said as she put the plastic bags in her hand on the table that had 3 pizza boxes on it, she looked at them then looked at me, I laugh, not even knowing what to say, Val put the bags on the table then turned to me, grabbing a chair and sitting, grabbing a pizza box.
"actually not with mine,"   I said, Val, stopping halfway returning the box again,   "you know, the talk we had this morning didn't have to mean that you have to steal so you could feed us, right?" Val said with a serious look on her face, I laughed again.
"oh no, no, no, I didn't." I said mid-laugh, Val on the other hand, grabbed the pizza box again, opened it, took a slice already.
"I actually don't know how to say this but," I said reaching the table to take a slice, Jane slapped my hand, "ouch-" I put my hand away.

 "nope, tell us first." Jane looked at me, I shrugged.
"Harry,"     I muttered,   "who?" Jane put one finger behind her ear turning her head to the side.
"Harry!"    I said loudly, immediately going red just saying his name,     "Who's that?"   Val said a mouthful of pepperoni pizza,      "Harry Styles?"      Jane asked, Val, choking and coughing,         "our math teacher?" she asked standing up, I put my hands on my face.

"yes," I said very embarrassedly.

Val laughs and slams her hand on the table causing me to startle in my place from the sound the interaction made, "score!" she said as she continued finishing off the slice, taking another slice handing it to me.
 "I said who, now, can I eat?" I asked as I took the slice from Val's hand, sitting down,    "Wait, no, how did it happen?"      Jane grabbed one and sat,     "don't drop this bomb on us and just sit there, tell us the details!"    she said, taking a bite. 

"I don't know, he asked to drop me off when he passed by me when I was going home from school, then he immediately went to a pizza place and we ate there, I don't know, we talked, we ate, he ordered those pizzas for me to take-away."  I shrugged, Val giggling.
 "You sneaky bitch, the skirt def did the deed."    she said, fishing in the bags they got, pulling out containers of Chinese take-out,      "I got you the spicy sweet and sour chicken noodles and miso soup, don't know if you like that, I like it,"   she said handing me my container.
"I..actually never had any of this, but I'm open to trying new things,"    I said, Val's jaw drops,   "you've never had any Chinese food before?"    she yelled, Jane shook her head as she grabbed a fork to eat hers,    "I told you that when we were getting it, Val, it's been rough for her," Val looked at her strange, shook it off, looked at me     "anyway, I hope you like it, here's a fork since you wouldn't know how to use chopsticks like Jane."

I giggle,     "It's hard to hold them and they hurt my fingers!"     Jane said sarcastically looking offended,      "so? that's it? that's all that happened?"    Jane said, bringing up the harry subject, I was going to continue when Val said immediately.
"Whatever happened, It's something that she shouldn't tell us, it's her privacy, besides, we're here for the essay not for prying on her only chance of having a different life, now, tell me, where are your parents?"      she said, changing the subject,     "I don't know but they're definitely not here."    I said, she nods,      "Okay good, I don't know about anything but just be careful alright?"    she said and then we ate in silence.

we threw away the empty containers, Val reaches for two more bags and her laptop bag,
"now, show me to your room, let's finish some essays and get high,"      she said as she walked out of the kitchen, I followed.
"I'm sorry, get high?"       I asked, reaching my room door at the end of the hallway, opening the door.
"smoke weed,"     she repeated, entering the room after me, Jane last closing the door behind, locking it. 

"I've never done it, but I'm always open to trying new things,"    Jane said making me feel she's kind of mocking me,        "yeah, I don't smoke."     I said shaking my index no,    "you will now"    Val said, reaching through her laptop bag, taking out the laptop, and a speaker pod, putting them on the bed, connecting the pod with her phone putting on chill R&B music. She reached through her pockets to take out a light and a cigarette pack, took out a joint, and lit it up, Inhaling for 3 seconds, exhaling a big fog of smoke straight in my face, I waved the smoke around,   "now that's a waste of smoke, inhale it you stupid,"    she takes another drag and passes the joint to Jane, who takes a puff, exhales a cloud of smoke, takes another puff,
"you've done this before,"      I said glaring at her,     "of course, I smoke weed all the time with Tyler,"       she said as she exhales, smoke puffing out with her words, she passes the joint to me, I look at it, not knowing what to do, I reach for it and hold it between my thumb and index.

"I honestly don't know how to do this,"
I said looking down at it, my hands shaking,      "Listen, if you don't want to, it's fine, we're not going to pressure you-"     Val started.
"No, I want to, I just don't know how to,"     I interrupted and smiled at her concern, she smiled back      "Good, you inhale, then open your mouth slightly to breathe in some air, then exhale,"   she continued, I put the joint butt between my lips, inhaled, exhaled.
"no!"     Val said, immediately jumping at me to sniff what's left of the cloud of smoke I exhaled, "a WASTE OF SMOKE"     she yelled, her voice cracking comedically, snatching the joint from my fingers, I laughed       "here is how to do it,"

she went to illustrate, inhaling, opening her lips very slightly you can barely see it, visibly inhaling again then exhaling,    "you need to inhale air after the puff so the smoke would enter your lungs, otherwise, you won't get high."        she said, passing me the joint again, I tried again, doing exactly what she said, I felt the smoke attacking my lungs and I exhale the smoke in a fit of coughs, Val and jane laughs.
"Yaaaaaaas lolaaaaa, you're getting the hang of it, another puff bitch!"        Jane said I repeated after I stopped coughing, the second puff felt a little less intense, still, I coughed while exhaling, I passed it to jane, and stood up to get some water from the kitchen to wet my dry throat, I unlocked the door, went into the kitchen, felt a little dizzy as I took a cup to fill with tap water.

I went back into the room, Val was doing a trick with smoke where she exhaled a cloud then inhaled it again like a vacuum, I laughed way too hard,     "that was so cool!"      I yelled, Val, getting freaked out from the sudden noise,
"Jesus, don't fucking do that, I thought you were your mom!"      she lunges at me and closes the door locking it, passing the Joint to me,     "now let's kick some essays!"    she said holding both her hands at me like a gun.
 "what?"     I said as I went to the bed while inhaling, getting used to the feel of smoke in my lungs, me liking the boost of happiness that came over me.
"kick some essays? kick some ass?"     Val said, me still not getting it,      "never mind, get the laptop,"      she reached out with her hand, Jane handed it to her.

"we'll have to make 3 different versions, you know that right?"     Val said as she sat on the bed, I look at her, taking my last puff, passing it to Jane.
"Yeah, I don't think I want to essay, I'm kind of hungry,"     I said.
"You've got the munchies!"      Jane said, reaching inside the plastic bag to take out a donut box, opening it, giving a chocolate-covered donut, I made love to it.
"okay, bad idea to smoke for the first time while doing schoolwork, never mind then Lola, I'll work on yours."    Val said,      "oh oh me too!" Jane said,      "no fuck you! you know how to deal with it, you'll help me." this was the last thing I heard Val say when I drifted into a very deep sleep.
