Weird and Scary Things

Mr. Gold POV:

I hated working after hours, but to get the whole family tickets to Disney World sacrifices have to be made. The summer weather was terrible especially in Missouri, like Mother Nature couldn't make up her mind half the time.

I wiped sweat that apparently collected on my forehead. Driving in my car with a broken air conditioner was part of the problem. I checked the time, okay 4:00 a.m., just enough time to get myself a cup of joe.

I quickly drove into Casey's and got my coffee. So, there I was drinking Casey's coffee while driving when a girl steps out into the middle of the street. I stopped the car just in time and it skidded to a stop. "Hey are you crazy, get out of the street!"

The girl looked dazed at first like she wasn't communicating what I was saying. Then out of nowhere her eyes slowly closed and she fainted.

"Okay then," I unbuckled my seatbelt and hopped out of the car. She was lying on the ground rather peacefully for someone who just fainted when I came around and checked on her. I checked her pulse first to make sure it wasn't a heart attack at least. Next I called the police and explained the situation.

"You'll be okay now," I hesitantly patted her head, how else would you comfort an unconscious girl. Weirdly that's when I noticed the blood. "Gah, ew, uh ew bloo-!" I tried to remain calm but honestly what man would?

I shakily ripped a piece of my shirt, and wrapped it around her forehead. What happened to this girl? She had knife wounds along her knee and forehead, and questionably had a lot of barbeque sauce on her shirt. I didn't know what to do, and felt ashamed just sitting there watching her bleed. I carried her back to my car and laid her down in the backseat. I waited for almost an hour waiting for the police, I thought what if this happened to my own kids. I have two kids Leo and Olivia, if something like this happened to them I'd probably die of sadness. Suddenly the police showed up.

"Yeah,they're here!" I squeeled like a girl and jumped up and down in my seat. The girl suddenly shot up and looked around the car. "Where am I now!" she seemed to screech to the sky. "Thank God, she's awake!" I laughed kinda hysterically as I leaned down in the driver's  seat. The police parked next to us just at that moment.

A smiling cop pulled down his window just as I did the same. He had a weird, dumb smiling face like Mr. Bean. I chuckled at that thought, I absolutely loved Mr. Bean when I was a kid. Smiley cop rose his eyebrows but decided not to ask why I was smiling like a mad person. The girl's response to the cop though was bad. Really bad.

She took one look at him and screamed. "I didn't kill her, I swear I didn't!" Smiley cop and I shared a look of confusion but we both calmly comforted her.

"Are you the girl's father?"

"No I was just driving when she popped out onto the middle of the road,"

"How long as she been this crazy since you met her?"

"First time, she just woke up," I said wondering what would happen next.

Smiling Mr. Bean Cop gave me directions to follow behind him to the nearest hospital which was at least two miles away. I nodded my head and waited until he turned on his car.

"Where are you taking me?" The girl's voice filled in the silence of my car.

"To the hospital of coarse," I turned halfway in my seat to face her.

"Can you call your parents?" I asked.

She didn't speak after that. I figured that was a little rude since I kinda did save her life. I just drove after Smiling Mr. Bean Cop and decided not to talk to her much. She had other ideas though as we made our eighth left turn.

"I don't know who my parents are," she barely whispered.

"Why not?" I guess that wasn't the best question but I was just curious.

"That's the part that scares me, I don't know why," she looked out the window of my car and fell asleep right there. I shook my head it looks like this would be a long ride.
