~Y/N POV~

It was 10th February 2016. I had taken the police cadet exam last year in November. Today was the result day. I am right now waiting for the message. I typed my roll no. and pressed 'view'. I closed my eyes immediately, trying to calm my racing heart.
I opened my eyes slowly to see that I passed!

I rushed out of my room, yelling "MOM WHERE ARE YOU?"

"I am here, you brat. Why are you shouting ??" My mom asked me.
"MOM I GOT IN !! I AM SELECTED FOR KNPA!!!"  I shrieked. Mom comes and pulls me into a tight hug. We were jumping up and down, like little kids. Both of us were overjoyed.
"So party today?" my mom asked.
"Definitely" I answered.

We both went to a restaurant, Doore Yoo, my favourite to be particular. We ate and drank to our hearts content. My mom was so happy, she was on the verge of tears. We talked, about how are we going to manage to stay in touch. It was euphoric, the feeling of accomplishing my goal. But it was not over yet. Just the tip of the iceberg. Now the real thing would start. Practice and training. It would be a lie if I said I wasn't nervous. I am going to be on my own, for the first time.

A ton of food and few drinks later, we were walking down the street. It was 9:00 pm. The cool breeze just was perfect with the company of my mother. She was a bit drunk, given she drank a whole bottle of soju out of excitement.  Making her sit at a convenience store, I go inside to fetch a water bottle for us. While paying, I heard a loud sound, almost like a gun sound. I rush outside to see my mom, a bullet in her forehead. Behind her was a masked person, a gun in hand.

~A/N POV~

Y/N started running at the masked person. That person, shocked, dropped the gun and ran for his/her  life. Unable to follow anymore, Y/N ran back to the convenience store. There were a lot of police car. But her eyes only searched for one person. Her dearest mom, Ava.

Fear crept her heart. Fear of losing another mother. She ran to the police officer, who gave her the hospital address and took Y/N there.

~Y/N POV~

Uncontrollable tears flowed down my eyes, brain beginning to lag. Why did I go inside? I wish I just stayed with her, better even if we didn't stop at the convenience store. I didn't even realise when we arrived at the hospital. Somehow I reached my mom's bed, head covered in bandages.

She held my shaking hand, and with a lot of difficulty, said "D-don't give u-up. I w-will support you fo-forever."

Her pupils looked into my eye , affectionately, like the first day she saw me.

"D-don't go" all I could say to her, sobbing.

She smiled at me

Her pupils stared lifelessly.

A part of me died.......or even the whole of me.

Everything went black.

I wish I see her in heaven now.
