How Things Started
Ophelia's POV:
I walked around my small apartment searching for the correct materials for the sins I was about to commit. I walked down the slim hallway into my room and picked up the mid-size knife off my bed "Hello again trusty friend." I laughed as I talked to the knife as if it were an alive being. I shoved the weapon into my pocket and pet my dog Bear before I walked out of the home. There was a park exactly .5 miles from my apartment complex, my favorite park. I walked down the road and slid my hood up swiftly, it was time to choose my victim. There was a slim girl walking alone, such a fool I thought. There should be a set rule in someone's mind to never walk alone at night. I mean there are strangers, and people that hurt you. People like me. I started to speed walk towards the girl as I looked for people around. No one, perfect; I came close to the girl and grabbed her by her soft blonde hair. She yelped and I put my hand over her pale plump lips. "Hush now dear, I wouldn't want anyone to hear you" I snickered and pulled the knife out of my pocket with my other hand. I traced the shape of her curves with my knife and she trembled under my touch. I let my hand off her mouth but wrapped my arm around her neck tightly. "Pl-please don't hurt me" she cried out quietly. I chuckled at her statement, "Don't worry love, I'm not gonna hurt you. I'm gonna kill you." She started to sob and I put my hand over her mouth once more. I brought my knife off of her tan skin and aimed it at her side. I brought it down quickly and turned it inside of her. She inhaled sharp breaths in my hand as she tried to scream. I let her go and she dropped to the grassy ground. She choked and gargled on her blood as she tried to slowly crawl away. I moved over to her in a few steps and harshly stomped on her back. I bent down to her and yanked her hair once more giving me a full view of her neck. I kissed her cheek and smiled "The world won't miss someone as average as you anyway". She let out one more sob before I slit her neck ending her life. I shoved the knife back into my pocket and let out a sigh, but before I thought I was finished I heard a rustle in a nearby bush. My body quickly flipped around to look behind me and I saw a man. I panicked and shoved the girl into the river a couple feet away from me and ran back to the apartment. I sprinted up the stairs and into my house slamming the door shut behind me. My small skittish dog yelped from the noise and I hushed him "Shhhh, it's alright Bear. No need to worry." Once he calmed I went into the bathroom and removed my clothes stepping into the brisk water of my shower. I watched as the deep crimson blood washed off my skin and into the drain. Once everything was off me I got out of the shower and into a fluffy robe. I fed and watered my dog and shut off all the lights. I walked into my room and shut off the light getting into bed. I snuggled into the warm blankets as I heard the pitter patter of Bear's feet coming down the hall. He ran to the edge of my bed and I lifted him smiling "Bedtime dear". He snuggled next to me and quickly fell asleep. I stayed awake for two hours after him thinking about that man, who was he? Was he going to tell anyone about what he saw, or was he there for the same reason I was. I cursed at my mind and thought about another subject before drifting into the darkness that is sleep.
