How about that plot twist back there? Huh? Huh? Did I blow your minds? I bet I did.

Well this probably won't make it better but oh well.

Oh and we're back to Mitch's POV now.

*puts new chapter in front of your feet* *runs away* HOPE YOU ENJOY THE CHAPTERRRRRRR! *just imagine my voice is slowly fading out of earshot as I'm "running away"*

____________

"Mitch!"

I froze.

The glass's calls were usually quieter, like whispers when your best friend tells you a secret. This time, it was urgent.

I looked at my mirror out of the corner of my eye.

Is it possible for me to answer the glass? I've never tried before.

I lick my lips. "Yes?"

"It is 25," The voice says.

"25?"

"She is in your world, correct?"

"Yes,"

"Listen to me. I do not know why, but she is lying to you."

With that, I faced the mirror.

"She can't be..." I whispered, my thoughts swarming together and becoming muddled.

"She is working with 1,"

My eyebrows furrowed. "1?"

"Do you not remember?"

"No,"

I heard muffled shouts, then the voice fell silent.

"What happened?" I said, reaching.

My fingers barely made contact with the glass when images flew before my eyes.

I felt the thunderclaps in my chest. I cry out in pain.

It goes on for about three more minutes.

At this point, I'm too tired to scream. I just wince as each stroke of pain takes over my whole body.

Then everything went black.

____________

It was dark outside when I woke up.

The lights were dimmed.

I groan as I was struck with an excruciating headache. I shut my eyes, rubbing my temples.

"You shouldn't be touching glass if this is what it does to you."

My blood ran cold.

"What are you doing here, Kirstie?"

She laughs, sending chills up my spine.

"Just checking on you, of course." She replies. "It's what a friend would do, right?"

"We were friends in a different life. Not this one."

Kirstie stood, walking to my bedside, sliding her elegant hands across the railing. "Why must you be so cold?"

"I know you've betrayed us. Scott, Kevin, Avi and myself. All of us."

Kirstie's brow furrowed, then she smiles sweetly. "What made you think so?"

"The voice."

"Oh, goodness, you're hearing voices!" She gasps, putting her hand to my forehead.

Her hands were cold as ice.

"Stop acting so innocent. You hear them, too."

Kirstie removes her hand, but I could still feel it on my forehead.

"I simply must get the nurse. You've obviously gone insane." Kirstie says, reaching for the call button.

I lean over and slap her hand.

Kirstie gasps. "Mitch!"

"Kirstie," I said, my voice low. "This is not who you are. I know it's not. In my few memories of you as 25, you were kind, sympathetic. What changed that here?"

Kirstie stood up straighter. "I didn't have to be like this, Mitch. But now you've given me no other choice."

"What? What do you mean?"

"1?" She says with her eyes closed.

"Yes, my dear?"

The voice gave me goosebumps, making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

"May I come back now?"

I reached and pressed the call button repeatedly.

"Yes. Your work is done."

"Nurse!" I shriek.

Kirstie smiles. "Thank you, sir."

She looks over her shoulder and finds the mirror.

She took a few steps backward.

"Better cherish your time with your friends." Kirstie says. "It won't be long before it's over."

"25!" I yell.

Kirstie crosses her arms over her chest, falling backwards into the mirror.

The mirror became water, rippling as Kirstie dove in.
