Outside, beyond the house, crickets chirped a dirge for the past. Tomorrow. It would be another day. Another day to start again.

Jade's Pov:
Two months touring the globe with the love of my life gave me nothing but pure joy. Our wedding was a very simple one. A few family members and businessmen came around to grace the occasion. It's good we did it in Mauritius far away from the prying eyes of Lagos press and paparazzi. A very beautiful place I must confess. It feels good to be back home in all.

"Kendrick, say I love daddy more."

"You know he's just six months right?"

"It's unfair he says mama and he's yet to call me dada. I'm his father and I contributed to giving him life. Can you tell him that since he listens to only you?"

"Jai, stop whining like a child and if we are to tell ourselves the truth, you shouldn't be this jealous. When you are sleeping so sound in the middle of the night, I'm usually up trying to get him to sleep or stop crying."

"But I join you sometimes."

"Oh please, you mean once in forever."

"That's unfair. I never use to sleep so sound until you started sleeping in my bed and now you blame me for that?"

"Is it me or the sex?"

"Both baby. Both." I say as I kiss her neck.

"Kendrick is just six months and we both agreed a three years interval before we have another child but with the pace at which we are going, I fear the decision won't be for too long!"

"Children are a gift from God. If he blesses us with another one before that time, who are we to complain Mi Amor."

"Jade!!!!!"

"Fine. I was just joking. Breathe my love. Breathe. Baby, you know you really don't have to return the money. Besides you've given mother more than half of it which she clearly didn't want and doesn't need."

"Jai, I promised to right my wrongs and that's one of the ways I intend to do so. My collection totally sold out so it's not like I'm struggling to gather the money. Least I forget, a certain Paige was calling your phone all through the night. I had to put your phone on don't disturb because it kept vibrating and you were sleeping so sound like a baby I couldn't afford to wake you up."

"Oh, ok. Thanks."
Why could Paige be calling me? I did the calling while we were having flings and she of all people know never to call except I requested her services. That I haven't required in ages. The last time I saw her was when she showed up at my workplace unannounced. It was during the time Ella was in a coma. She insisted I called her. I wonder how much I drank because the following day my head hurt like hell and I couldn't recall anything at all from that night. I shouldn't have drank from that wine she brought along. It could have been the alcohol level that was responsible for my forgetting everything that transpired.

I pray all we did was just talk and nothing else. That's the reason I must have dialed her line in the first place. I would hate to think we had unprotected sex because I was sure to search the bin for used condoms and I didn't see anything of such. She was gone even before I woke up. Alcohol is one of the worst things to turn to in a time of distress. If we slept together it only balls down to one thing, infidelity. God, please.
