Ella's POV:
After putting Kendrick to bed, I enter our room only to find Jade sprawled on the bed sleeping. I feel bad that his hopes were dashed. He must have waited for me before he fell asleep. Unfortunately, mummy duties were calling.

"Baby. Wake up he's asleep now. How about we pick up from where we left." I whisper into his ears.

"Uhm..' he replied as he adjusted to his side of the bed and continued sleeping.

I switch off our bedside lamp and get into bed.

The beeping sound from the baby monitor brought me back from Lalaland.

"Jai, how was your night?" I hear no response and that's when I notice his side of the bed is empty. I better start getting used to the fact that we are back home which means seeing less of Jai due to his cumbersome schedule. I pick up the baby monitor and find a note under it. It read, 'How was your night Mi Amor? I'm guessing you had a short one because you had to stay up tending to Kendrick hence my reason for not waking you up. I even had to use one of the spare rooms to get ready so you can get your beauty sleep. I had to rush out to meet up with our new investors. I promise you a free full body massage when I'm back but in case you would like to pay for my services, I know a few ways you can. Love you xoxo. Your darling husband.'

Such a sweet man. Gestures like this are the reason I trip for this man all over again.
I put on my sleeping robe and head to Kendrick's room not before taking a quick photo of myself in this lingerie and sending it to him. At least I know my efforts didn't go to waste by the time I'm out of them.

Singing to Kendrick every morning had become a habit already and that magically sort of calmed him down during the morning hours.

"Sunshine. You are the light of my life. Come to mama... Kendrick, can you do something for mama? Daddy has been a good boy don't you think it's time to call him dada... It's going to make him very happy or don't you want your papa to be happy? Of course you doo pumpkin.."
I say as I carry him gently and rock him.

After breastfeeding Kendrick and cleaning up for him, I fix myself breakfast and do a quick rundown of the things I need to do. One of them includes checking up on Iya Risi. I haven't seen her in a while.

"Iya Risi, I missed eating your sumptuous meals."

"I'm still annoyed that I couldn't come to your wedding. Of all the places to wed why will you choose a jungle? I already planned to make Sofia's mother jealous. If you had done it in Lagos now, it will be on the paper for a long period and also on the lips of many Lagosians. I partially forgive you and your husband after these goodies you've bought for me. Hope you are feeding him our native food? I heard he grew up overseas."

"Iya Risi. Mauritius is not a jungle. In short, you wouldn't want to come back to Lagos when you get there. You insisted you didn't want to enter a bird that can drop at any time so it's partially not our fault that you missed the wedding. That bird took us there and brought us back in one piece by God's grace."

"I will keep these pounds in my suitcase. That way no one can steal it and you see this necklace, I will wear it to church on Sunday and make sure to touch my neck while dancing so that they will know 'Iya Risi' has arrived."

"Anything for you Iya Risi. Hope Risi calls?" I ask trying to control my laughter.

"Once in a while. She says it's very cold over there. Ella, I can't thank you and your husband enough.  You've both changed our lives."

"God used you to change my life. If you didn't help me out of your goodwill, I wouldn't be where I am today. This is just a little way of showing my appreciation. I should be on my way now, I want to stop by my warehouse."
