Truth Of The Past

The night that broke hearts

She steps out and sees Brandon leaning against the wall waiting for her.

" what happened Marrisa? What did father tell you?"

She stayed quiet and hugged him tight, this was the first time in these years that she had hugged his brother..

Brandon wasn't a child, he understood something was very wrong. He asked her multiple times but she didn't say a word. Loosing it he decided to ask his father himself..

Marrisa told the gaurds and courtmen to suspend the court for a day and keep everything for tomorrow and not disturb her until something's worth disturbing.

She entered her chambers and locked the doors.

She then fell on her knees crying her heart out. She forgot everything about her tough and hard personality that she had made up. It was her way to deal with pain but today she chose to cry.

She remembered her father's words
" I ll die by the end of spring"
For the first time, she didn't want her favourite springs to arrive. She wanted to go away, go away from everything, the alliance, the responsibilities, the sorrow, the rule..just go.

She had no idea what the future held for her. She had no plans for dealing with everything. But she couldn't quit, a queen can't. She had to face it, her father's death, the marriage and everything she had to face it..and continue her rule.

She gets up and looks out of the windows and see some children playing.

She remembers how her father used to lift her up on his shoulders and play with her in the gardens. It was so difficult for her, she loved her father the most and knowing he wouldn't make it past spring killed Marrisa slowly. There was nothing she can do to stop it from happening.

She smiles through the sadness...

Call it love or call it hatred...You cant love someone you hate and you can't hate someone you love.

The day goes away as Marrisa keeps herself locked in her room and drifts into a deep slumber

In The past , Back in 1860's

The royal gardens were filled with laughters and happiness as a young little prince and a little princess play around in the bright sun, under the sky

Little Blake- One day I'll marry you
said the little prince of Ernasia chuckled

Little Marissa- And  then we'll play all day long! the little girl in her flower robes squealed in happiness..

Little Blake- Everywhere you want to go! He smiled and kissed her on the cheek as she flustered and ran away with daisies swinging in her grip.

But years after came the night with the storm rolling -

Marrisa- You can't do this !! You- you promised
Screamed the girl running after the boy with tears flowing through her eyes, in the corridors under the lightening sky

Blake- I have to...
Toughly said Blake as he didn't even look back.

Marissa- Look at me Blake

He turned around..

Blake- I have to leave

Marrisa - No please Blake, don't do it. Everything's prepared, its our wedding tomorrow. You can't leave like this. What about our reputation? What would the people say? What would they call me if you leave? You need to think calmly, D- Did I do something wrong? Tell me, I l- Ill do anything to make it right, pleas- please Blake don't leave..T- think, think about us, our promises
Her plead echoed along with the wild  thunders in the palace.

Blake- There's no " us" Marrisa.
He said bluntly

Marrisa- D-Dont say that.

Blake- Its the truth, face it.

Marissa- P- Please, I- beg-g you

Marrisa's voice cracked as words struggled to come out of her mouth.

The sky wept.

Blake- I am sorry. I can't do it , I just cant.. Hate me if you want to

The prince turned and walked away

The girl falls on her knees and sees him going away. She wonders how her love failed? Not only an alliance broke between Thanes and Ernasia, but that night broke hearts. Marrisa never thought that he would leave her like that just one night before their wedding. They loved each other for years so what caused such a disaster?Marrisa cursed herslef.She was broken by everything and that day she decided not to love anymore.

Marissa- Haaaaaaaahhh! she screamed

She wakes up and remembers what she just saw as a dream. It scared her. After so many years his name came up. Nobody ever mentioned him, he was burried deep in everyone's thoughts. How could've life taken such a turn? How can she do it? But its the kingdom and she's the queen, she must do it. Her father had cursed her with his last wish..Her love for her father and her duties for her kingdom were pushing her into a Valley with nothing but darkness..and she knew this but she couldn't do anything..No matter how bravely she fights, she can never deafeat Shinsley on her own and Marrisa was well aware of this inspite her strenth and bravery she knew it was not possible for Thanes to stand alone against Shinsley due to the Treaty. Even if she tried, her kingdom would starve..Thanes needed this alliance, Thanes needed the marriage, but Marrisa? She was sacrificing herself to this alliance. Only if she could make everything right she would've done anything for it but this marriage was an open attack on her heart and soul.

Marrisa had never been so much troubled at heart than now, her thoughts were rumbling like lightning inside her head..she spent the entire night trying to understand that what was going to happen..This was all making her weaker and weaker inside..
