It was 9:26 PM and I was sitting on my bed trying to figure out if I looked okay when my 12-year-old sister, Maia, poked her head through the door. She was wearing her usual lavender and light pink combo. Her silky nightdress went down to her ankles while embroidered with flowers of white, pink, and purple flowers she had sprung from her fingertips. Her dress had a v neck collar going just above the middle of her chest, and her long brownish-blonde hair usually down going to her waist was put in a low bun going to her back, tied with a vine of pink and white calla lilies

"Hey," Maia said shyly "When are you coming home? I'm about to put Baxter and Blaine to sleep and I want to know when you are getting back."

"Uh, I don't know when I'll be back, but call me if there's trouble."

"Okay," Maia said.

She began to leave my room but instead of walking to the twin's room she sprung a vine of light pink and purple tulips and sprung herself from my room to the twin's upstairs room on the 3rd floor and swung another vine down to keep my door propped open.

I looked in my floor-length mirror for what I wanted to be the last time. I was wearing a black tank-top with a loose white crop top. My hair was put into a half up half down bun tied back with a black scrunchie. My bottom of choice was low-waisted light blue jeans that went to my ankle, and shoes were white slip-on sandals with a little snowflake given to me by Blaine and Baxter because they could manipulate snow gave it to me as a good luck charm.

Although if they are lucky, I might have to have to wear these tomorrow to Mrs. Harbingers' class. Although I was given misinformation. I was told that the essay was in 2 weeks and that we were supposed to study before that. But the essay was due yesterday. It's not making sense, but I'll leave that to deal with tomorrow.

As I pulled on the knob of my bedroom door I noticed a note tied to it. The note was surrounded by small pink, purple, and white flowers of all sorts. The note read-

"Golden apples

Rusty chains

Mother of States is where hope drains

Where the killers took Child of Travel's hat

Is where her life will be at"

I looked up to see Maia winking at me then swinging away. I didn't understand what it meant, so I put it down on my desk and started walking outside to the Fest of Hell.
