*THE WHOLE THING I THINK IS SIC*

I closed my locker, shifting the weight on my backpack until it was comfortable. The bell rang, signaling passing period was over and lunch was starting. Most people in high school adore lunch, can't wait to get to lunch. Those people have friends to hang out with. I suppose I have friends. Shawn and Corey. But they're always busy with trying to start their band, and I hated bothering them. Corey was nice about my rare bothering, he always has been nice. Shawn, however, would flat out ignore me if he was busy and I was bothering him.

I stood in front of my locker, deciding what I should do and where I should go. Before I could decide I saw Corey walking over to me, looking around and occasionally waving or grinning at someone. "Hiya Y/N, you gonna hang out with anyone right now?" Corey sniffed, a small grin on his face. He knew I didn't hang out with anyone at lunch. I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

"Great. Because I need your help asap." Corey huffed a bit, motioning to follow him. We walked through the halls together, getting to the outside area of the school. I opened my mouth to ask him where the hell we were going, but he opened the door to let me pass. I did a little bow and walked outside. I was immediately greeted by about seven boys in my face.

I jumped back, bumping into Corey a bit. He put his hands on my shoulders, and I wasn't sure if it was a comforting gesture or not. "We're that frightening?" Shawn grinned, and I let out a small exhale. "Jesus- you guys got a little too close." There was a bit of laughing and murmuring amongst the boys. "Y/N, these are my bandmates." Corey announced proudly. He began pointing to each of them.

"That's Sid, our turntables man." Corey pointed to a boy in the front of the group, who ran over to me and grabbed my hand. He shook it excessively, speaking loudly and quickly while grinning. "Shut up Sid, you're gonna scare Y/N away." Corey shook his head with a small smile. Sid eyed Corey and slinked away to stand next to Shawn.

"Craig, he plays the keyboard." Corey motioned to a boy at the corner of the group, he simply nodded. "Jim, the guitarist." He motioned to the tallest in the group, Jim just waved.

"Paul's the bassist." Paul just stared, tilting his head while wearing a neutral expression. "Mick is the other guitarist." Corey motioned to another tall boy who looked pissed. "Then there's Chris, our percussionist and back up vocals-" Chris gave a small wave, looking uncertainly at Corey.

"God- there's like 7 of you." I huffed, looking at Corey who just shrugged with a smile. "There's actually nine of us." Shawn chirped proudly, making me roll my eyes. "You didn't even let me get to the part where we need you," Corey frowned "We need you because our drummer, Joey-"

"This is who's gonna replace me?" A voice interrupted, Corey sighed. A boy with long black hair with some pieces of red and an arm cast walked over to me, he was somewhat shorter than the rest of the boys so I hadn't even seen him hiding behind everyone else. "They look like they've never even seen a drum set." The boy, who I'm assuming is Joey, muttered. Corey didn't like that, you could hear it in his response. "Y/N, is one of the best drummers I know, Joey." Joey's eyes simply flitted away in response. I awkwardly stood still, scooting a bit closer to Corey.

"Oh, that's going to be our drummer?" Chris scrunched his face up. Corey looked at me in an almost hopeful manner. I blankly stared at Corey for a bit, before realizing what he was asking. He wanted me to replace this angry boy, he wanted me to be in his band.

"Oh! I- uh- guess I am?" I said slowly, making Corey smile. The boys all nodded, besides the angry one named Joey, muttering amongst themselves. "We're gonna get lunch at the taco shop down the street after school, if you wanna go with us? You could get to know the band better." Corey spoke hopefully and I sighed. I always had a hard time saying no to Corey Taylor. I nodded, and he gently punched my shoulder.

"It'll be fun. Alright, see you till then..drummer." Corey chuckled, and began walking away with my new bandmates. The angry boy was the only one who looked back.
