Chapter 1 - Karaoke (Part 2)

After 6th period ended I went straight to my locker to get the bandages for Everleigh. She told me she would be wearing her heels for AJ, she'd need the bandages after she was done wearing them because she would have cut on her feet because of the heels.

AJ was Everleigh's ex-boyfriend. He was extremely popular among the girls. He and Everleigh dated for two months but they broke up because Everleigh started feeling uncomfortable about all the girls around him since nearly all of them liked him. She told him to stay away from all of them- and he did, for about one week. But after getting fed up with this new rule, they broke up. And just two months later, he started dating his current girlfriend, Kima. And Everleigh was fixed on making him regret breaking up with her by looking extra beautiful and trying to make him jealous.

The only reason they were still talking was that we all are part of the same friend group, so she is forced to invite him to all the stuff we do together. After I grabbed the bandages from my locker I put them in my bag and went downstairs to the exit of the school.

Everleigh waited for me there. She waved when she saw me and tried to run over but her heels made that impossible and she almost fell.

"Yikes! Those are really big. Is it absolutely necessary for you to wear them?" I asked her.

"Duh! I told you this already A.J is gonna be there!"

"A.J, as in the A.J that you hate? Why are you trying to win him back if you don't even like him?"

"I don't like him! But I still want to make him jelly!" She shrugged. I sighed and realized there was no point in arguing with her. "Anyway, help me get to my car so we can drive to the place." I took her shoulders and steadied her as she walked.

"Loi!" I heard a familiar voice call. Alan. I thought immediately. I turned around and forced a smile as I waved.

"Alan! What a nice surprise!"

"Hey! Where are you guys going?" he asked. Alan was a boy in almost all of my classes, and I hated him. He didn't know that of course, only Everleigh knew that. But despite knowing that she still was constantly shipping me with him.

Any other girl would have killed to have all their classes with him because he is known as one of the most handsome guys in the school. He had blond-ish brown hair, sparkly green eyes, pale skin, a nice jawline, and a perfect nose. I have to admit he is attractive, but I would never see him in a romantic way.

"We're going to Mike's Karaoke! Why don't you join us?" Everleigh asked, then she smirked at me. I narrowed my eyebrows and gave her an angry look.

"I don't know..."

"Trust me no one will mind, A.J, Kima, Varon, Parly, and Josh are all going to be there, so you have to come too! We were going to tell you but we couldn't find you during lunch."

"Oh, well in that case, sure."

"Great! You wanna come with me and Loi in my car or...?" She asked.

"Huh? Oh! No, it's alright, I have a ride."

"Awesome! We'll see you there! Bye!"

"Yeah, see you Leigh, bye Loi!" He said as he smiled at us.

"Bye Alan," I said, trying my best to sound nice. He smiled and left. When he was out of sight I turned to Everleigh and glared at her. "What is wrong with you!? You have a loose screw or something?"

"Not a loose screw! I just happen to be the best matchmaker in town." Everleigh said, sounding extremely proud of herself.

"Matchmaker!? Have you gone insane!? You know that I hate Alan! And you playing matchmaker isn't making it any better!" I scolded.
