This comic take place after when coffee and muddy went for scavenger hunt for food and uh, bad stuff between those two and I think you can tell by the first apocalypse au drawing at the other chapter. Coffee never really tell the others what happened to him.
The people who are scavenger hunt for food, water and other stuff are, coffee, notebook, battery. Uh, muddy came back alive but different. And goes to get his revenge on coffee for what he did to him.
