Tony couldn't believe his eyes. He was here. After all his hoping and dreaming and sleepless nights, Peter was here!

It had been almost 2 years. At first, they had told May that Peter was doing some work for Tony abroad, with one of his foreign branches of Stark Industries. But after 6 long months with nothing but those horrible videos to show, they had to tell Peter's aunt the truth.
She didn't believe them at first. Thought it was all some cruel prank. But after showing May the secret panel in the back of Peter's closet along with all his spidey gadgets, she was forced to face the truth. Her Peter, the only family she had left after Ben, was gone. And it had been 6 months of nothing.
Or at least May thought it was 6 months of nothing. And it was better that way, really. She didn't need to see those awful videos. Those horrendously terrible videos that haunted Tony's nightmares.
May hadn't spoken to Tony since that night. She emailed Pepper daily until the day she was hit by the car. Always the same question, 'have you found anything yet?' But May flat out refused to talk to Tony.
And he couldn't blame her. It is his fault after all. He was the one who was supposed to protect Peter. He's the one who encouraged a 14-year-old kid to be a superhero!
'I'm 15.' The words rang in Tony's ears. He couldn't help but crack a sad smile at the memory. But Peter would be almost 17 now. The smile vanished at that thought.

Almost 2 years of non-stop searching, and here he was.
All that searching did nothing in the end. It was Peter's own cunning brilliance that got him out of there. That and the brute of a man sitting next to him.
