Bucky owed everything to this kid. This little punk.
He couldn't quite remember the first however long he had known Peter. He was the Winter Soldier then, after all.
He didn't know the exact point at which he had become less of an enforcer and more a partner either. He supposed it happened gradually over time.
He remembered the kid asking his name. His real name. Because, 'Well, no one has just a title for a name'.
He remembered when it was decided that they would share a cell. Because 'You'll stop the little bastard from trying to get out again'.
He remembered when Peter started talking in his sleep. 'Hey, May... ok... there's this crazy car parked outside... what?! W-w-what are you do- Hey I'm Peter...'
He remembers Peter talking to him for the first time. ' Oh... um... May's my umm ... my aunt'.
He remembers talking to Peter for the first time. 'Bucky...'
He remembers remembering.
And he remembered planning.
So yeah. He owes everything to the stupid genius kid.
