He had left with the woman in her car after he had cleaned up, even though she had said he didn't have to, he had given her his mom's phone number to see if they had wanted to become friends because his mom doesn't have many, as harsh as it sounds. He had about 1 hour before he had to get to his school and explain why he didn't make it to 14’s house in time or at all. He was going to go and visit mom and change into his school clothes, the woman whose name was 09 drove him there in her surprisingly nice car, which he hadn't noticed the night before. The drive there was slow. 09 had stayed a little longer to talk to his mother, 0 had just assumed they were going to be very good friends, he also figured out that 09 had a son who had moved somewhere and that's whose clothes he was wearing.  and she had a wife who was a very well-known builder in the community. She was the one who built his neighbor's house a few years back “Y'know kid you're quite alright, you don't talk too much. You help around the house without being asked and you sure don’t pay any mind to our antics’’ the woman, 09 had said referencing her and her wife. with her subtle country accent, she had tried to hide busting through at times. 0 knew he wouldn't tell anyone, but he had grown attached to the woman. He loves the way they included him in everything even though he was not their kid or there for long. And they had not made him clean with them, he, of course, did it anyway, not wanting to upset them, the night he had stayed they had woken him to watch a movie unaware he had school in the morning. They had watched a movie he had never heard of; he couldn't remember the name of if, even if he tried. It was about a guy, and he got power from eating an old man’s hair. It was weird. Anyway, he had almost made it home, he was looking out the window, the trees, and grass a green blur. 09 and 02 were singing along to the radio, some song, going like ‘hey soul sister’ or something, cringing again the boy ignored them again. They had the windows rolled down because it had warmed up from the frosty night before, and for the vibes he guessed. He whispered the words to the song under his breath,’’ can I have your daughter for the rest of your life…... I'm gonna marry her anyway’’ the people in the front seat were practically yelling the words by now as he softly smiled, engraving the memory into his mind. Hoping to cherish it forever. The sunrise and the woman with their hair flying everywhere, singing to the words of the playing song, screaming it at times. They had eventually made it to 0’s house, his mother waiting for him and the two women. The car doors unlocked, and they all got out the light mist smelling in the air from the sprinklers in his mother's garden, and the bright green grass dancing under the sun’s happy rays of light. It may have been a night away, but it felt like it had been forever, he had never stayed somewhere without his mom, that was why it had been so important when he did not show up at 14’s house last night. 0 ran to hug his mom, watching to see if he had steeped in any mud or water puddles. His mom tells him stuff about his father all the time, he only listens just so he can hear her talk.  “Did they say anything about the school yet ma?” hoping they had called it off so he would not have to face the questions asked by his friends. “Kid there's something about that, they had called and said that we would have to home school our kids until they could find someone to replace her, and most of us don’t have the money for supplies.” his mother spoke, her voice getting quieter near the end until she was eventually mumbling. 0 knew her. The woman she was talking about, the principal. She was a kind lady once, visiting all the staff to see if they needed something. The one day she changed, started pushing the staff to their limits, belittling them at every chance she got. They eventually sent her off, she had hit a student and staff member. The parents had demanded that she be pulled off, and she was. Some would say it was a tragic end, pulled from the place she had spent most of her life, that she worked so hard to achieve. Not 0 though, he hadn't liked the woman, she was sweet and a beautiful lady but at times she had just gotten so obsessed with her work, that was when she started becoming something like a dictator for the school you had to abide by her rules and laws, or you would be punished. Honestly, he was glad they didn't have school. He could ask his mother for some tips from his job and hopefully, visit 09 and 01 some more and spend his nights mostly there.
