Chapter 2
I hadn't realized I was day dreaming until I felt a sharp shooting pain in my hand.
"Ow, what the hell, Lucas?" I pulled the pencil from my hand, letting the blood drip to a stop.
He say down beside me on the big leather couch, "you were day dreaming again." He laughed, grabbing the remote from the table and turning the tv on.
Several years have obviously passed since I was turned. I can't exactly remember how it happened, I just remember it being black and fuzzy, sort of like it felt to die. First it was slow, then it hit you all at once. That's how it was for me at least. Lucas' was fast, and quickly over with. Where as mine, took days for me to transform. I was left lying in a hospital bed for what seemed like decades.
I can remember exactly what happened before he changed me. A horse had gone wild outside in the barn, and me being the stupid one I am, tried to calm him down. It didn't work, and he trampled over me, leaving me to lose at lot of blood. It wasn't him that had just trampled over me. The barn had collapsed, leaving me almost paralyzed. I couldn't get up. I was left to die. Lucas came running for me, he saw how close I was to death. He knew I couldn't make it even if I tried. So, he turned me.I shook my head, "was not."
I continued writing my paper for English class, ending the sentence that I had previously been stuck on for ages, due to my day dreaming of course. The paper had to be written about the 1800s. Why must Ms. Crawford give us papers like these to write about? I will never understand.
Lucas turned to me, "are you about finished? I'm hungry." I could hear his stomach barking at me, begging for something or someone to eat. I couldn't tell which.
"Shh!" I completed the last sentence, put the paper in my bag, grabbed Lucas' hand, and we were out the door.
I climbed into my Mustang, and we headed towards downtown Silver Woods. The town was just as small as it used to be back in the 1800s. Over the years, buildings were obviously added, making it a little more appealing. It was a beautiful little town, trees lined the sides of the streets, lamp posts on every corner with a hanging basket full of flowers of all different kinds. Cars parked on either side of the street, making it hard to get by.
I pulled into an empty space across from the towns old bar. The place opened in 1898, and surprisingly it hasn't lost potential. The food still tastes the same just as it did when it first opened.
We walked into the bar, the smell of alcohol filled my nose, the food smelled wonderful, leaving me starving.
"Hi, how many?" The blonde waitress asked. She was a skinny little thing, her hair was neatly tied up in a bun, a few strands fell perfectly out of the bun. Her makeup seemed to be a bit overdone, because she looked like she was about to go whore around.
"2," Lucas answered, he smiled devilishly at her. I could see he was trying to get her attention, and to my surprise, it worked. She seated us next to the window where the sun was happily shining through. The sun beamed into Lucas' eyes, making the gold stand out. He brushed his soft, dark hair away from his forehead, shaking his head to fix it even more.
I looked down at the menu I was given when we sat down. All the food was great, even the really cheap food was good. They always took their time making it, but it sure was worth it in the end.
"Hi, I'm Tina. What can I get you?"
She asked, clearly eyeing Lucas.
Every time we went out together, he got stares from tons of girls. He knew it made me mad, but did he do anything about it? Hell no! He just brushed it off as nothing. Typical.
Lucas hesitated for a minute, deciding what he wanted. He ordered the steak sandwich, while I ordered a plain salad.
