N sighed, watching the humans he hated so much congregate in Nara, Japan. It wasn't just China and the middle east now. Humans were beginning to assimilate together and cooperate. They were becoming...civilized.

N did not loathe anything more.

Creator Earth never promised to keep N thriving with bloodshed. However, Creator Earth never agreed to let N die. After all, they were the Original Two--one could never exist without the other.

But N was dying. He found no life force in turning animals against each other anymore--and N knew that there was no more hope in waiting around to strike. He needed to adapt. He was, simply put, a parasite needing a host. However, he had an idea of how to get a host as he watched the humans below him drafting their first letters in an invented language.

Attack Creator Earth's creations.

As humans formed together and became civilized, Creator Earth fulfilled one's purpose--creation. One collected all the stars of the universe, the soil of planets far and wide, the elements from the creation of the universe, and turned them into the living embodiment of a civilized society. Creator Earth coined it as: countryhumans.

But countryhumans could not be perfect. It wasn't possible, as everything on the earth was both corrupted by N and purified by Creator Earth. Life and Death, Good and Evil, Ying and Yang could not exist without the other. Humans must be the same...and with them, countryhumans. N's purpose must be to corrupt them, right?

He just needed to make his move and restore himself.

As if on cue, a shimmering light broke N from his corrupted thoughts. From the evening sky, lit on fire by Sol, came a falling streak of pure light, pure creation. The form of a shooting star split the sky. The humans below N looked up to the sky, terror and excitement painted on their faces.

"Well, well, well." N's mess of a voice ricocheted around him, scaring the birds resting on the trees above. "Looks like it's my turn, Creator Earth."

•••

"Child, you have been created to serve humanity. Do so at your highest capability. This is your only order from your Creator--fulfill it to your last breath."

That was that creation's first memory.

The star fell to the ground, colliding with the earth.

That's when she took her first breath.

Another countryhuman had formed.

•••

N wasn't far behind the white-hot star, observing as it crashed into the nearby forest with a flash of light and a loud crack.

As N grew closer, he felt the energy emanating from this newly-formed countryhuman, who's silhouette began to morph into one of a humanoid. N's eyes widened at the sight.

His guess was right. The energy of Creator Earth's newest being was so pure and radiating. N could practically feel the power beckoning and calling to his dying self with each pulse. He couldn't resist the temptation any longer. He reached out his black claw of a hand, hungrily approached the new creation, and--

Boom.

Whoosh.

A wave of raw energy shook the trees of the forest and sent the humans who were searching for the fallen star tumbling back.

Two opposite energies collided.

The dark touched the light.

The evil corrupted the good.

•••

All she remembered was searing pain--an empty, terrifying coldness that filled her lungs with her first breath. This would soon be known as her curse, the "Kitsune No Noroi". But she never saw the face of the culprit. She was the first victim, destined to bring destruction to all those who crossed her sword, yet she would never find out the true source of this corrupt evil until her dying breath.

The first humans named her 朝日, or Asahi, which meant "Rising sun". However, as the world began to truly expand, she took the title of her island itself, being worshipped as a god along the many emperors and shoguns.

She became known as Imperial Japan--her excellency, the saikō no kōgō, the god of the Japanese, the highest samurai, the cursed kitsune...and the land of the rising sun.
