𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐈𝐒' 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐓 𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐋𝐀𝐔𝐆𝐇. to let it crack past his lips but when he realizes it's vivian who got pushed into the pool, he knows better, and he snaps his mouth shut while handing his drink to jaden who holds the same confused look louis does.

her body is quick to resurface from the water and like louis expected—she doesn't look happy nor does she look amused. her mascara as well as the rest of her makeup seems to leak down her cheeks as she stares up with wild eyes that makes louis think she's about to strangle someone.

"now it's a party," louis turns to see saint gaze down to the two from her sudden spot next to jaden who still looks confused. "i don't suppose it was dipshit right here who pushed you in?"

"no, he knows better," viv treads water closer to the pair as louis now offers his arm out to her, "it was the dipshit over there." she nods off to a group of boys where j.b. stands with a sick smile on his face, making saint frown hard.

she despised all the boys she went to school with. especially j.b. and his brain dead personality. she could tell there was no thought behind those eyes every time she saw him, especially now, nothing good anyways. but one thing, the one thing she could tolerate was his generosity of providing free alcohol to all.

     "no kidding."

"you sure this wasn't just a call out for your knight and shining armor?"

the four of them all side glanced to a loud and sour voice that came calling from the left side of the pool out of nowhere. louis regrets the glance immediately the moment he gets sight of millie, once again intruding. he shares a look with viv, who's now out of the pool, knowing exactly what she was endeavoring toward.

"this is so in character for you, viv," she walks closer, tipping her head in a sick mock that tries its best to cut into the girls skin.

but she should have known better.

"yeah, sorry i just felt a large desire to be pushed into a pool," vivian isn't as nearly as affected as one would be by millie's poisoning tone. instead, she tries her best to wring out her hair of pool water, brushing off the irritating presence as best as millie would allow her.

the moment louis and millie became intertwined into their mess of a relationship with one another over the summer, millie had always had it out for vivian. she easily took the girl-best-friend-that-would-fuck-if-she-could card through millie's eyes—and millie made that known. a majority of summer was a living hell anytime louis came around due to that matter and hangouts would be stopped short by screaming phone calls and text that always said: you're with her, aren't you?

"definitely one way, but i will say, viv, you've been more creative when trying to acquire lou's attention," vivian grits her teeth together, pushing herself to continue to put up the front that she couldn't care less what was coming from millie's mouth and it was only slipping off her like ice—but it was easily seen that she'd bite her head off it she could. "i guess whatever makes him come running faster, right?"

"i'm sorry, who are you?" saint stares at the girl, finding complete amusement within the situation, but also a large amount of confusion at the amount of hostility she carried for viv. millie had came out of nowhere, almost as if she was waiting for this moment and it was beginning to get hard to listen to this girl speak and she had just barely begun to talk. "shit, louis, is this your girlfriend?"

louis felt himself froze at her say his name. he stood still, staring at the ground for a minute in surprisal as everyone else stared at him, waiting for an answer. he pressed his teeth together harshly, cursing at himself once again for sending that goddamn picture. slowly, he dragged his gaze to saint who is already staring back with not a genuine curious look, but a cocky one.

oh, you fucker. saint knew it was her.

"his what? who are you?" it seemed millie hadn't even noticed her till now.

"oh, i'm sorry. the more i look at you, i realize it must have been some other bimbo looking brunette," she waves her off just as easily as the words fly out of her mouth, looking entirely nonchalant despite the rest of them looking completely devastated. except jaden, who smiles hard into his water as he tries his best to cover his laugh with drinking.

"what?"

"ah, sorry about that. you all slowly start to look more and more alike with the way you dress, and style—you know what, it doesn't matter. i'm sure you have better things to do than listen to me."

the smile saint gives her makes millie incredibly uncomfortable and for the first time in years, millie feels out of place and itching in her own skin. she had never met anyone who could or had enough balls to make her feel the way she made others feel.

she doesn't know what to say and the uncomfortable silence doesn't help, "i'll talk to you later, louis."

and for the first time ever, millie walks away without the last word.

"wow."

"what?"

"have you ever seen millie go so quiet?"
