Chapter 5

"(Y/N)" the king continuously called out. "Princess!"

Despite (y/n) being able to hear the King and his Knights looking, she didn't dare go back. She was scared. The Princesses natural reaction was to hideaway from all her situations she felt uncomfortable in. But now she'd taken it literally and had no idea where she was.
The time of day was just past dusk heading into the deep depths of night. (y/n) hated the dark, and really wished she just kept her guard and stayed put with the King. But now she believed him finding her would be even worst.

Out of breathe she decided to stop running. She was sure she would've been deep into the maze by now. The voices of the knights barely audible. She couldn't even hear King Steven anymore. But then she realised that this scared her even more.

She sat down on the grass. Her burgundy dress covering her legs. Transparent tears falling from her gorgeous eyes.

Maybe they had given up on trying to find her. She put her head in her hands.

Just then a she felt a droplet of water on her shoulder.

"No no no.." she mumbled. Rain. Freezing, cold rain.

And it wasn't light rain it was probably some of the heaviest rain she had ever witnessed.

The Princess got up and wiped some of her tears away. Now she really couldn't see anything.

But she could sense still. And she felt like the presence of someone was near her.

"Who is there..?" she asked. Only just managing her voice to come out more than a whisper.

Then the Asgardian felt a warm blazer being placed over her shoulders. Along with some strong hands reaching for her face.

"Thank goodness your safe.."

It was Steve.

His figure slowly was becoming visible. He was just wearing a white shirt that was now soaked through, his long muddy blonde hair drenched and his silver crown dripping.

Out of nowhere he picked the Princess up bridal style.
"I'm so sorry" the Princess began as she then buried her face into the Kings neck.

"You scared me.." the King said. The sound of sadness creeping through his voice.

"It wasn't my intention.." the Asgardian responded as she remained snug to the Kings side.

"Your lucky I know the maze of by heart.." he said. His voice now sounding a bit more angry.
(y/n) tried not to start crying again.

They then went back to the Palace in silence. Princess (y/n) in the Kings arms.

They reached the doors to the Palace in which many knights were standing along with Stevens Father and Mother. And the princesses Mother and Maid.

"Oh my dear (y/n)" Frigga said as she pulled her soaking wet daughter into her arms. "You are ice cold. Darcy take her up to change immediately!"
And with that (y/n) was dragged upstairs still wearing the Kings blazer.

Sarah the Kings Mother then passed a fur blanket to Frigga.
"I think she will need this. If she needs the nurse in the night, her wing is directly down the hall from your chambers." Sarah calmingly said while smiling reassuringly at Frigga.

"Thank you." And with that the Queen of Asgard went to check on her daughter.

Sarah then turned to her son.
"Well done, for ruining the ball and possibly getting a Princess Sick. But in all honesty at least you found her. I'm just glad I'm not you when Odin finds out."

"I didn't do anything Ma, she just got scared and ran off..."

"Hush now child, go get cleaned up before you too get sick."

Joseph just looked at his son before walking off with his Wife.

In his chambers, the King sat on the end of his four poster bed. Now freshened up. He couldn't stop thinking about the Asgardian Princess and how beautiful she was, her eyes and her personality. He didn't think he would actually fall in love with his future wife, especially that quickly. But here he was. Definitely in love. But also ashamed, the Princess didn't want anything to do with him. After all she ran off when he tried to talk about marriage. He understood that they had only met that day, and maybe it was all to quick. But that was the way it had to happen.
Just then he was interrupted by his thoughts to light knocking.

"Open the door James." Steve said.
He looked up to see the door slowly open and a familiar face peeking through.

(y/n)

"I hope I'm not disturbing you.." (y/n) quietly said. She was out of her beautiful dress and was wearing a black night gown, covered with a navy cloak. Her hair slightly damp still. Overall she looked just as stunning as earlier on that evening.

"Not at all. Are you feeling well?" The King asked, trying to sound as professional as possible.

"I'm feeling..good..I just came to thank you and to return this." She replied while passing him his dark grey and silver blazer, the one in which he gave the Princess when it began to rain.

Steven took the blazer which was then taken from his grasp by James to be put away.
"Thank you." He said. "Is that all?"

(y/n) hesitantly nodded and began to walk out of the room before she was stopped by the sound of the Kings voice.
"Princess..I hope you get plenty of rest."

She turned to face him again. He was walking towards her.

Once the two were only a few inches apart the King took (y/n) hand and kissed it. His beard tickling her skin.

"As for you, your highness." The Asgardian mumbled. Her cheeks beginning to go a pink shade.

"I have to make my decision by dusk tomorrow. I want you to live the life you want. But if you care to join me in my life and my kingdom, I'd be honoured. Meet me in the orchard tomorrow at midday to give me your answer.." Steven said as he placed a kiss to (y/n's) forehead and he turned the other way and walked back into his chambers.

Leaving the Princess alone with a big decision to make.
