As Miriam boarded her flight, her wolfskin coat started slipping off her shoulders as she got in her seat. Her wolf stirred as she put in her earbuds and played her music. The first song was one of her favorites: What Could Have Been by Sting. The song reminded her of what she could have done. She was just a child but was being shipped away to a place she had never once been to learn how to control her wolf spirit.

As her thoughts started to become dangerous, memories of a friend she made over five years ago began to trickle in, blocking out all the darkness, bringing light before the shadow of pain as fear reared its ugly head again.

Ming looked at her daughter as she told her that a friend was sending their daughter to live with them for a few years to learn to control her wolf. Mei looked at her with a confused glare. "What do you mean, her wolf?" Mei asked curiously. "She is from a line of wolf spirit holders. Like us, red pandas, but Miriam is a special case. Her wolf is monstrous and cruel. Compassion means nothing to her." Ming said as she stepped towards her daughter and snarled, "So I need you to be very rough with her and beat her up. Whatever it takes to train that mutt to be more dignified like her mother."
